A Mississippi cop held a young man by the neck as onlookers screamed, “He can’t breathe!,” troubling video shows.
The 2-minute clip posted to Facebook Friday shows a uniformed Jackson police officer with both hands wrapped around the man’s neck.
“What did I tell you to do?” the officer screams at the man, video shows. “Make me, make me, make me … I said make me, boy.”
The officer, identified by the Jackson Free Press as Myron Smith, then tells a woman who tries to intervene to take her hands off him as she says the man is having trouble breathing.
“He’s trying to breathe!” she says. “He’s telling you he can’t breathe.”
Smith then tells the woman he isn’t choking the young man as he holds him against a black Toyota Camry with Mississippi plates, video shows.

I think the pressure is getting to the police. Knee-on-neck and hands-around-throat are both over the top, unless the civilian is armed and resisting.
Reminding subscribers about the malicious providers they’re sustaining.
It’s startng to feel that these incidents are being planned and staged to create maximum chaos.
The pressure must have gotten to them several years ago. Here's a 2014 newsclip of a Knox County, TN deputy that strangled a handcuffed, compliant suspect.
You can see he asphyxiates and drops to his knees while the arresting officers do nothing.
Police departments throughout the country should probably train their officers to restrain suspects without grabbing or kneeling on their necks.
No. Watch the cop’s right hand. He’s using his thumb and fingers to pinch the nerve and tendon on the guy’s shoulder. It’s a pressure point that I’ve seen used in subduing people.

So why did he do it?
That suspect didn’t need to be subdued. He was already compliant.

I have no idea why he did it. But as I said, I’ve seen that particular move taught as a way to subdue someone. Notice the guy went down to his knees pretty quickly. It’s one of the areas of the body that is a pressure point that can cause pain.
Choking someone out takes quite a bit longer than that. Something I learned in boot camp.
I didn’t say the cop was justified in doing it. I was just explaining the technique.
