Italian health authorities announced in a recent report that only 4.1 percent of fatalities testing positive for Wuhan coronavirus happened in the absence of serious comorbidities, while the average age of the deceased was over 80 years.
The report also revealed an average age of 81 among those who have died with coronavirus in Italy. One of the most astonishing findings of the report was that only 1.1 percent of all coronavirus deaths in the country happened to people below the age of 50, while more than 57 percent were over 80.
The average number of comorbidities among all Italian deaths with the coronavirus was 3.1, ISS revealed. Just 15 percent of fatalities occurred with the presence of just one other serious pathology, while 21.4 percent died with two other pathologies, and 59.6 percent with three or more pathologies.
The most common comorbidities were arterial hypertension (in 68.3 percent of cases), type-2 diabetes (30.1 percent of cases), ischemic heart disease (in 28.2 percent), atrial fibrillation (22.5 percent), chronic renal failure (20.4 percent).

Type 2 diabetes goes with obesity. I WISH the truth would get out. And the numbers in the USA are exponentially inflated. And when I say I am happy the numbers aren’t anywhere near the predicted numbers, I am accused of shamelessness for ‘celebrating the dead’. Next time I will respond ‘are you SAD that the numbers aren’t near the predicted amount?’. That MIGHT shut them up.

90% of diabetes does not require insulin and is treated by adjusting diet. So why does it not matter if these people die of Covid? Why does it not matter if someone with high blood pressure dies of Covid? Why do idiots write these articles every day?

Most people who die from many illnesses do. That doesn’t mean the illness isn’t what killed them.
The bodies don’t pile up that fast merely by people dying from “chronic illnesses”, nor do 100+ doctors in a single country die each year during any other illness outbreak, morgues being overwhelmed, needing military assistance to handle all of the dead bodies, etc. That doesn’t happen with “chronic illnesses.” People can live many, many years with “chronic illnesses.”
But based on the comments this will provide confirmation bias for their false narrative.

The point is that people without pre existing conditions of a certain age should not be locked down.
Well, I don't know about the "fear mongers", but there were quite a few people who just made their observations based on reality - you have not been one of them. Many people have "chronic illnesses" and most of them live many years - even many decades - with them, that died far sooner because of this virus. Those chronic illnesses don't lead to hospitals being overwhelmed that they simply have to leave some people to die, numerous medical staff dying including over 100 doctors, mortuaries being overwhelmed, so many dead bodies they need to call in the military for assistance, etc. All of that happened - and it didn't happen due to "chronic illnesses" - it happened because of COVID19. It's called reality. It's called facts. Sometimes facts and reality are bad - even really bad - that doesn't change the reality that it exists.
Everybody who has diabetes would have died the last couple of months anyway - don't you know that? Just like anyone with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, ever smoked a cigarette, etc. COVID19 had nothing to do with these death rates. / s

Based on the information we had at the time, that being that the very people who developed this biological warfare agent totally freaked out when it was detected outside the confines of the lab that developed it, there was every reason to err on the side of caution.
The prudent thing was to lock down and sort out the actual facts, knowing the people who were withholding the facts shut down a city of 11 million, killed their own economy, welded people into their thousand unit apartment buildings, lied to the rest of the world while sending flights world-wide, but not to anywhere within in China from Wuhan, tried to suck up all the world's PPE, kept the steel mills running in Wuhan as expedient crematoria, while bringing in forty (40!) industrial incinerators to dispose of "medical waste"?
They KNEW, the instant it was detected outside the lab that developed it, just how deadly it was designed to be, that's who!
And in China, it apparently really was that deadly. Some 21 million Chinese disappeared in the first few months.
Fortunately, like a Harbor Freight tool, it quickly lost its edge...
Once we had realistic actual data, i.e. mostly harmless to people under 65, mostly harmless even to them in the absence of co-morbidities that universal lock down ceased to make medical sense, and should have been discontinued.
The blue state governors are frantically keeping the hysteria up because holding your breath until you turn blue beats orange.
It's a political necessity, a literal matter of life and death-by-hanging to traitors, not a medical necessity.
