Well they got away with alot with Mads Hannibal because of their artistry and amazing visual efforts. How they weaved this series was stunning, it's a masterpiece as they created the sets and the story line overlaps.
As for Mads he's very well known in Europe, I actually chanced on his film or I wouldn't have known what a great actor he is. Takes a lot for me to be impressed with actors today but he's truly among the top tier of actors of his time in terms of just his sheer dramatic presence let alone his capabilities.
I didn't see the “Hunt”.....nor “ Manhunter” but I’ll take your word they're worthy of a watch. I enjoy Criminal movies with Psychological twists etc.
