I have a confession to make. I am sick
of coronavirus commercials. I in no way feel comforted by them, moved by them and Im certainly not entertained by them. At the very least they make me want to change the channel. At worst they make me want to actively boycott the products.
I dont want to see one more damn coronavirus commercial!
No more Were all in this together we are decidedly not. From celebrities doing Tik Toks from their palatial estates to Nancy Pelosis subzero freezer filled to the brim with expensive ice cream it has become increasingly clear that we are indeed not all in this together. Some of us are crammed into stale apartments. Some of us are isolated with our abusers or family addicts. Some of us are losing the businesses we worked our whole lives to build. Others of us are in mansions, still getting paid, still traveling, still going to parties, still going to private gym appointments. None of us are together, though. Thats kind of the whole point.
I dont want to see one more damn celebrity sing-along over Zoom. In fact, I dont want to see one more damn thing over Zoom, period!
X8 snip
I record everything before watching it so I ff through the ads ... but I inevitably see and hear a few seconds of them and I agree.
I’d like to slap everyone in these sappy commercials and everyone involved in making them.
Lol
I only steal from the best
Excellent post! A++
And I’m sack of those sappy, friggin’ “we care” commercials, too. Enough!
I’m glad I don’t live in Michigan, because I would be arrested for smashing that damn LCD screen!
In San Diego County we have gone and taken drives to see friends (as they have as well)...no masks, shake hands if we want. We make the same social distancing jokes. In our condo area I see a lot more people and their kids socializing and playing lately (thank God). There are some people with masks around. The ones who occasionally try to say something or give us stink eye are ignored.
I havent seen one, yet. Turn the TV off. Better yet...get rid of it.
I dont watch tv but listened to the radio for a while today and good night! All the Newspeak over and over - djs and famous bands and companies all spouting it again and again stay at home we can do this we are all in this together remember six feet we flattened the curve ad
nauseum it was unbelievable!!
Ignore them and go on with life. Let them shake in fear and never live life fully. It's great to hear about the kids. Seems like normal activity with kids in my neighborhood, which needs to improve in my estimation. There's a ballfield just up the road. There are never kids there unless it is some adult organized activity and there are none of those going on. It was a lot different when I was a kid. We would have been all over that ballfield, particularly on days like today - 85 and sunny
I agree-they are like the virtue signally of the left.
I used to love Arby’s as a teen, had one right down the street in Dedham, MA.
Now i see Arby’s commercials all of the time and there are like only 3 now in my entire state nowhere near me.
Argh!..
Me too! So sick of these maudlin, self-congratulatory ads!
bkmk
Your story is my story in western NY. Having 13+ over for BBQ today. Friends and family. All of us have been connecting since Easter in some fashion. Masks optional, but pretty sure there won’t be any.
If there is one good thing about this insanity is that 2 of the guest were extreme lefties before all this started.
Empathis on the word ‘were’.
I haven’t changed one thing in my life except add a bottle of Purell in my car. I held bunco with 8 gals at my house about 3 weeks into this. I’ve gone back and forth to our boat. I have neighbors there who are NOT social distancing. We had a dock party that some chose not to attend. A friend came over yesterday and we spent the day by my pool. She’s coming again today and even staying so we can bbq burgers for dinner. Next Monday I’m leaving for a week in Vegas to visit a friend and if anything is open we’ll go. Life goes on!
Yeah, it’s all I can do to not take the pump nozzle and smash the screen.
I’ve noticed that, too. Do they think white males never buy products?
I recently saw one of the Waltons (female) was putting up big bucks to beat PDJT.
