Tech billionaire Elon Musk, who has emerged as a champion of defying stay-home orders intended to stop the coronavirus from spreading, may have come out as a conservative on Twitter Sunday. "Take the red pill" the Tesla CEO wrote in a cryptic tweet to his 34 million followers.
Some followers saw it as a sign that Musk was pushing for the conservative cause. Adviser to the president and first daughter Ivanka Trump later retweeted it, adding the word: “Taken!”
Take the red pill" is a line from the popular 1999 movie “The Matrix” about seeking the unvarnished truth: "You take the blue pill, the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes."
More recently, it's been slang for people abandoning the ways of liberalism for the values of conservatism. People of all ages and ethnicities posted online videos describing "red pill moments" — personal awakenings that have caused them to reject leftist narratives imbibed since childhood from friends, teachers, and the news and entertainment media.

With the level of dealings he has with government, it’s no wonder he is moving to our side. Just as President Trump did years ago, for very similar reasons.
He’s still a liberal, he’s just upset he wasn’t given all the exceptions other elite inner party people did.

The Matrix is exactly where I got it from. Looking forward to part 4. And, I don’t quite believe this means much regarding Elon.
But that’s what popularized it and the slogan they took to define themselves.
But, in reality, no. The mugging by reality doesn’t work for actual leftists.
It will work for those who’ve been go along to get along with leftists without any real thought into it so self identified, incorrectly, as leftist.
But actual leftists are what they are because that’s how their brain works.
Leftists brain function is not much survivable when times are harsh. That’s why in harsh times there’s not a whole hella lot of leftists running around leftistisming. There’ll be some, but rarely ever enough to reach critical mass and destroy everything around themselves as is what leftists do.
But, in easy times, leftists flourish. So there’s more and more of them. And as populations grow, there’ll be more leftists within that population.
And eventually, the leftists gain critical mass.
Everything is destroyed. The leftists die off faster and more completely than the rest.
And civilization has to start all over.
