In owning operations, they “own” the longshoreman’s union [contract].
POWERFUL union.
Now, tariffs.
Tariffs are payable at the port before unloading.
The port operator can waive that for expediency.
What happens when the ship, the operator and the country that owes the tariff are one-and-the-same?
