Then came the SV40 contamination, and apparently some got cancer from that. More recently, I have read that much of the polio in some 3rd world nations has actually been shown to be from the vaccination.
I have read a number of books on the subject, and much of the reduction in diseases was already happening due to better sanitation etc. In addition, it should be noted that similar to today, many people got polio with only mild flu-like symptoms and no residual paralysis.

As for me, I was never forced to get another shot without my own agreement. And so the next year, I did not get the vaccine, but all my class mates that got it, got sick to their stomach and threw up all afternoon at school.

The problem that I have with vaccines, is that they are not as well tested and for as long as the Prescription Medicines. Also, the manufacturer's liability has been negated. HHS is supposed to be testing and monitoring, but in recent court case, were not able to produce any records that such had been done.
There is a Fund set up by Gov. that pays out each year to people who have been harmed by vaccines.
I am not inherently opposed to vaccines-if I could be sure that they were not contaminated. However, SV40 is the 40th identified Simian Virus. As long as Monkey kidney is used for growing, I don't know why that's a surprise.

Yes, the early days, had their shortcomings, many of us were very lucky. There must have been a long space in time where they had about it right.
Now, I’m not so sure, with all the claims of autism etc. and now the population control agenda rearing it’s ugly head.
Doctor always tells me I’m at risk and should get the flu shot (SCARY FLU!)
I ask the doctor, “Sure, if you can guarantee me that I won’t get any form of the flu this season.”
Doctor says, “You know I can’t do that.”
I ask, “Is it because the vaccine is not 100% effective or is it because a guarantee like that exposes you to law suits?
Doctor says, “Both.”
We’ve had the same conversation every November since 2008.
