This stinks of seeding the disease.
Guidelines schmidelines, as they might say in NYC.
Regardless of anybody’s guidelines, any jerk knows that the standards in nursing homes are the slackest they can possibly be without the whole place getting closed down.
They are not hospitals. They are clean, most of them, but clean the way someone keeps a house clean, not clean like we keep our hospitals clean.
Good guess, Sherlock.

President Trump said Thursday that the United States would not shut down if there was a second wave of the novel coronavirus.
People say thats a very distinct possibility. It’s standard. And we’re going to put out the fires. We’re not going to close the country. Were going to put out the fires, Trump told reporters during a tour of a Ford manufacturing plant in Ypsilanti, Mich., when asked if he was concerned about a second wave of COVID-19.
Trump expressed confidence in the countrys ability to contain future outbreaks.
Whether its an ember or a flame, were going to put it out. But were not closing our country, the president continued.

More on the mink transmission of the disease.
New: the farm cats are suspected of spreading it!
Bad news for cats...
At least 5% of people in the UK have now developed COVID-19 antibodies, with the number rising to 17% in London, a study has found.

More on that mink case.
Looks like all animals are going to be a reservoir for the virus.
@realDonaldTrump
I will be lowering the flags on all Federal Buildings and National Monuments to half-staff over the next three days in memory of the Americans we have lost to the CoronaVirus.
Interesting... from the link In this letter I inform [the House of Representatives], also on behalf of the Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport (VWS), about the latest state of affairs in the current study in 3 COVID-19-infected mink farms. RIVM [National Institute for Public Health and the Environment], the veterinary experts, and the investigators concluded that:
1. It is plausible that an employee of one of the infected mink companies was infected with SARS-CoV-2 by the minks (this employee has since recovered);
2. Minks can undergo COVID-19 also subclinically (without symptoms); and
3. it is important to further investigate the role of cats in potential virus transmission between companies.
Only in an involuntary manner. As far as I’m concerned, given how so many cases are asymptomatic — implying there is potentially a vast number of COVID carriers beyond who is actually tested and diagnosed, given our deficient testing system — I suspect this thing has an R0 closer to measles (14) rather than one of 4 to 6.
So, somebody picks it up getting coffee at the 7-11 — or maybe out there, it is a Kum and Go — and then spends the next five days or so asymptomatically working cheek-by-jowl in the plant with dozens of other workers. Next thing you know, hundreds of workers have it and the plant has to shut down.
I’d love to read this but I refuse to turn my ad blocker off. Can you summarize? Sounds really interesting.
I’m well aware of the sneaky epidemiology of this bioweapon, but there has also been some discussion of possible seeding. I think I have seen it several times. Of course you can never be sure.
Something is just not “right” about the person’s behavior.
One time I was almost certain. Other times it seemed to follow a pattern.
Well, good for him. COVID tests aren’t perfect.
And I’m betting most of them didn’t have diagnosed cases. Like I said (above), think more of a measles rate of spread (R0 = 14 prior to vaccines), rather than the R0 most people are giving out.
Such would help explain some of the wild antibody test results in places like NYC and Santa Clara County, CA.
