A frequent DS tactic for removing our freedom and liberty and infringing on our rights is to do so in the cause of something we approve of like “fighting terror” or locking up drug dealers and pedophiles. No one ever worries about their rights. They just want to get the serious criminals off the streets.
Then, when the precedent has been set to use illegal tactics, they can point to that precedent. In addition, the sheeple have become accustomed to it. So as it gradually seeps into use against the law-abiding population, no one seems to notice.
