The whole argument hinges on one phrase: "If it saves just one life..." The way to counter it is, "If it saves just one life...abortion should be outlawed!"
Actually, no matter what we do, the same number of people will be infected. If we allow the virus to infect people without control, a critical mass of immune people will be created which will make it impossible for the pathogen to spread and many vulnerable people will survive which wouldn't have otherwise. The Swedes are not a stupid people and this is the path they chose. Historically, this is the way it's always been done. Only this generation of leadership decided they know more than the sum total of humanity before them.

In two weeks is the opening weekend of walleye fishing in Minnesota and several hundred thousand anglers will decend on Minnesota lakes. The lakeside resorts, motels, bait shops, marinas, restaurants and bars that cater to these anglers remain closed by the Governor’s order. While public boat ramps and state park campgrounds have been opened, they cannot possibly accomodate the number of fishermen that hit the lakes opening weekend. I expect there to be thousands of agry anglers, resort owners and other small business owners demanding the Governor to open the state or resign.
Encouraging. I wish we could have a “national day” where we could all turn out in our states.
