One of the Chinese MO’s is starvation.

This economic choice - which will cause inflation in the long run - was made to stop Americans from starving in the streets 20 months down the road. It was a choice between really bad and ‘really much worse’...

No one’s pretending it was a good choice - just the best available at the time.

He's too arrogant for me, but Maher is much more ‘conservative’ than he realizes. Still doesn't keep him from looking down his nose at people he doesn't truly understand.

I’ve been day trading since 03/12. It’s been like the 80’s. I’m out for a bit but ended up right at a 30% return as of this past Monday. I’m waiting for the next downward slam.

I moved everything in equities in to cash yesterday. Every penny. I have self directed things for decades and on one account I had to talk to one brokerage firm for the first time since 1998 ion the phone. The gal who answered the phone had gone to Harvard and she asked me why was I doing what I was doing. I explained QED, printing borrowed money, the coming bloodbath on a long list of businesses, etc. The word from the folks that run the very well known brokerage firm she works for was that this all too shall pass and she cited historical metrics and market history. I told her that stuff is out the window. I’m pretty sure I scared the crap out of her.

Why is no one talking about the super-tankers from Saudi lined up off our shores to crash our oil industry while we’re protecting the same Saudis from the Persians? Do the Bushes still have holdings in Saudi?

That was just for the USA and he can afford to head off to another country to ride it out but not if this affects the whole world.

Yeah,it almost scares me when Bill Maher is intentionally right about anything. Makes me wonder what is wrong with my thinking.

Wasn’t Bill Maher also for the Iraq War and the other endless wars? Did he ever complain about the trillions spent on those wars to set the Middle East on Fire?

A lot of Democrat “progressives” are fairly indistinguishable from Republican neocon war-hawks when it comes to foreign policy. They want perpetual war and confrontation. Most of them want a war of some kind against Russia. And they’re nevertrump because he won’t give it to them

I’d agree. But he’s more like a stopped clock being right twice a day.

Even a smart guy like me (haha) was fooled and supported Bush’s Iraq war. But I learn quickly from experience, and can clearly see now what a dumb foreign policy that was. Iraq was not sending bombs to United States, Saddam was actually tying up religious fanatics in Iran for 10 long years.

We dismantled the dictator strong men in middle-east (in Egypt, Libya, Iraq) and ended up installing fanatic Muslims to take over. It proves the folly of trying to create democratic republics in middle-east.

So glad Jeb Bush did not win nomination in 2016. Hillary would have chewed him up and spit him out.

A much better choice is a TAX REBATE to individuals and businesses. No “funny money”, no side-effects, no inflation, if fact just the opposite - working to stop inflation.

The only side effect is shrinking government but that is EXACTLY what we want and need.

Victory over this stupid virus was declared on April 16

we’re way rolling downhill now - this thing is a mild flu type virus ( except for a few ) and is on his way out and everybody knows it

I believe the president knows to a certain degree that he’s been had on this shut down thing ; and he is fullbore intent on opening America back up and getting us rolling again

We’re not at May 1 yet - but May 1 is coming quickly and going to be a critical date that many of the states said for opening back up and restore businesses and relieving restrictions

More and more the narrative is going to be red states versus blue states and states that are open versus states that have vindictive and psychopathic government trying to keep everybody staying at home and cowering in a corner

What the liberals cannot control and it sure is coming - the seasons!!!

is summer is coming ! hot weather and sunshine!!

That more than anything will kill this stupid virus as well as all the other crap

“We have to think big about that," she continued. "The more we invest in science and health, the quicker our economy will recover from the pandemic. We expect a return on this money…that’s stimulus.”

Like the return on Solyndra? Oh wait....maybe she’s talking about returns from insider trading? What about the “forgivable” loans? How about those grants in the package? There’s an awful lot of evil to go around when it comes to D.C. but Pelosi is the face of it.

And, Mahr is the same idiot who wished an economic recession on the US, just to damage Trump.
His new protestations ring quite hollow...

I don’t think it’s just Maher who gets stuck in that trap, any popular artist, celebrity, writer, etc... eventually becomes a brand. Do you think Mick Jagger still gets excited to play “start me up” to a crowd, or Emeril Lagasse really want to say “Bam!” when he adds salt to a dish on a TV spot? It’s the business portion of show business. Producers, directors, agents, managers, etc... They get paid to provide a known quantity to the people paying them, and it usually ends up with the talent becoming a self-caricature of their most easily identifiable traits.
