Finally, an excuse to root for one of our Florida teams — which I have not done since Don Shula retired.
Edelman needs to be traded to the Bucs as well.
I never played team sports, but I can say from other endeavors that one of the best things life has to offer is to work with friends you trust. I do a fair amount of volunteer work in retirement, and it’s the people that keep me at it.
One last hurrah for Tom Terrific, then a well-earned retirement.
Probably just my generation, but the whole thing of wearing a player jersey always seemed gay to me. When I was in school, the only person besides you that wore your jersey was your girlfriend.
Have to be impressed with Jerry Jones, though. A few years ago, hockey jerseys were the big thing. He pushed the alternate jerseys and stuff, and now people pay $80-$150 to run around in a jersey like they're part of the team.
Dan Reeves did the same for the Cowboy’s running backs.
Well that answers that. I wondered if Brady was leaving New England in search of a quiet gardening spot to bide his time until retirement. But apparently he intends building another empire. Because if he were looking for a nice safe place to work until he can start drawing his pension, he’d be bringing the best offensive linemen money could buy, not his favorite offensive tools.
Great receivers are one thing, receivers that will be where they’re supposed to be on timing plays or intimately known rout runners for when the line is blocking view downfield, is something else entirely.
I suppose practice might square that away, but never seemed to when he was at NE. Receivers either did or didn’t and not much changed during the remainder of the season. Those that didn’t just never got much field time.
It seems strange to me that people who don’t care about football would go out of their way on a thread about football to tell everyone they don’t care about football.
I hope they both do really well in Tampa. Love me some TB12 to Gronk!
I can also respect Bellichek’s position. Tom was getting old, but still was playing top notch. What do you do? How do you groom your next quarterback when grandpa is TB 12 and still has juice? And then one day, time takes its toll. The issue is you’re then not ready.
Tom spoke about this and even agreed it was best for both for him to move on. No hard feelings. However, I do think he was miffed about the team letting Antonio Brown go. Tom wanted him, and thought AB should have got his chance to defend himself before getting booted.
