Not to nit-pick but, that is a freezer. Not a fridge.

But, the evidence of a faulty seal is not just the dislodged seal. Evidence of a faulty seal is also the frost build-up on the inner surfaces of the freezer.

R U sure the pic is from the Wuhan level 4 containment lab? If so her PPE is all wrong if she is handling level 3 or level 4 frozen samples. Most biological samples are stored in Vapor phase LN2 not in a -80C freezer.

Everyone should keep in mind that we're buying processed foods from these slobs that stock the inventory of many a store. Their standards of QA/QC for that can't be much better than what's seen in this lab.

Knowing what I do about China, if I had to create a scenario, it would be:

On one hand - Chinese lab scientist-cowboys, willing to play God, looking for a jump on research publication, make a name for themselves and get rich, have created quite a few little monsters in their labs. And then on the other hand - low-paid underlings selling lab equipment and even test-animals improperly to make some extra cash, let it out.
