It would certainly explain God’s instructions as to why copper was so generously used within the Holy of Holies. Purity.
Also the brass serpent that Moses raised up in the desert.

Copper has been found to have anti-microbial and anti-viral properties. It is why Roman soldiers would put a coin (made of copper) on their sword wounds....it reduced the chance for infection.
Our elimination of brass door knobs and plates was due to cost, but increased the ability for bacteria and viruses to live longer on such surfaces.
Poor cleaning of stainless surfaces in hospitals is directly related to the spread of Mersa Virus in patients.
Mersa can live on stainless surfaces for 6 hours. Stainless infused with 10% copper ensures Mersa cannot survive more than half an hour. That was a study done years ago.

Hmmm. I wonder if including copper mesh in a mask, maybe as a liner or outer covering, would be helpful?

This is not news. My old high school had copper alloy stairwells, door cladding, window frames and handles, etc. The stair rails were painted, but maintenance was poor and they were rubbed down to bare metal. Some contractor made a bundle hauling it all away when the board of ed had everything replaced in the name of energy efficiency.
Silver is not as good at room temperature. Silver has good antibacterial and antiviral properties at body temperature and higher humidity. Silver sutures work well for this reason.
Copper nickel alloy is very good. US coinage is clad in copper nickel. The current pennies are copper plated zinc. THe copper plating is effective.

Buy some fine weave copper cloth, make a face mask out of it. If its too coarse or rough layer something much softer against face.
Ebay sells it as RFID cloth, often used for shielding.
Not to be confused with copper colored silk.
