I watched “Richard Jewell” on pay per view the other night. It brought tears to my eyes.
Hulu series Prison Break is well written and worth a watch.
Cross Creek was good but it is a bit chick flick. I loved it though.
Fabulous comedy film from 2008 called Easy Virtue with Colin Firth, Kristin Scott Thomas and Jessica Beal. I only found it 2 years ago.
Looks like at his time you can only rent it, but it’s worth $2.99 on Amazon.

That was a pretty amazing movie. Powerful. Very powerful.
The English Game. It is only 6 episodes and you can binge watch. By the way, I have only watched episode 1 but it was good.
JoMa
6 episodes of police squad, TV series. you tube has em.
I second “The Highwaymen”. It’s a very good “mesh” with the Warren Beatty/Faye Dunaway “Bonnie & Clyde” movie, if you saw that. It is NOT a repeat of the B&C movie.
Also, I’m currently watching “Counterpart” on Amazon. It’s a two-season sci-fi series and very interesting. I’m on the last episode of season 2. At this point, don’t think there’ll be anymore seasons. It’s good.
Ozark
native texan, if you like older movies, I recommend my favorite movie of all time:
Best movie ever, IMO, and to my surprise, you can watch the entire thing on YouTube, and it appears to be high quality too. I own a copy. The link above takes you right to it.
The movie is about three men being mustered out of the service after WWII ends, and is about their re-entry back into society, and the issues they have. One guy was a sailor on a carrier in the Pacific, one guy was a crusty Army Sargeant who fought in combat in the Pacific, and the guy in the picture below was a B-17 bombardier who had flown over Germany.
The movie is well acted, brilliantly directed, and dealt with the alienation, the different expectations, and the transition back to civilian life. The trauma of war. It won the Oscar for Best Picture in 1946.
I simply cannot recommend this movie more highly. The themes in it are timeless. If you ever get a chance to watch it, I would be interested hearing your thoughts on it.
Thanks for that suggestion.
It looks like a good one.
I may even watch it again tonight...:)
I am going to put that on my list...I have wanted to see it for some time.
Great movie
Yes. I have given those themes much thought, the alienation, trying fit back into society after experiencing combat, the mental and physical trauma, the expectations of the people they return to, all of it.
.
Ditto. Massive suck.
The Best Years of Our Lives. Outstanding movie.
An oldie but a must see classic. No doubt about it.
Yea i cannot wait for season 2 of The Boys.
I really liked that one..
