Half of the food goes to retail shelf. Half goes to restaurants. The demand for the restaurant part is down to 1/3 of prior demand. Few trucks are running. Much of that food is spoiling in place. There is no alternate delivery channel.
Hmm, I thought there was an EO a cpl weeks ago that was supposed to alter the distribution channels for that stuff.
That’s not something that was a big deal in 1918. Most people at food at their own homes. Restaurants, for all but the very wealthy, were a bigtime treat.
