At this point, everyone is scared.

Some are just too macho to admit it.

They’re drop shipping crop from the other countries right back to China.

Also they were doing the same thing with pigs from the US via their smithfield plants.

‘We’ aren’t the only game in town with ag anymore. Brazil, Argentina, etc all willing to sell to whoever wants to buy.

Incidentally - totally unrelated victims, but, vaccines can be dicey stuff - hard to shortcut the testing:

Can’t argue with any of that.

We’ll just have to see.

We’re not the “only game in town” but we’re still the biggest,

"why you don’t want to reuse a non-washable mask:

https://www.msn.com/en-au/health/medical/researchers-found-the-coronavirus-lasted-on-a-surgical-mask-for-7-days-showing-how-crucial-it-is-to-properly-remove-face-coverings-after-wearing-them/ar-BB12eT27 "

This peer-reviewed article has an error in it.

The MSN article notes the following:

"They were surprised to find the novel coronavirus on the outside of a face mask a week later.

"Strikingly, a detectable level of infectious virus could still be present (emphasis added) on the outer layer of a surgical mask on day 7," the researchers wrote."

The actual article:

"Stability of SARS-CoV-2 in different environmental conditions"

- see https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lanmic/article/PIIS2666-5247(20)30003-3/fulltext

notes as follows:

"Strikingly, a detectable level of infectious virus could still be present (emphasis added) on the outer layer of a surgical mask on day 7 (∼0·1% of the original inoculum)."

However, the peer-reviewed article is incorrect. The research showed that a detectable level of infectious virus was present on the outer layer of a surgical mask on day 7. Please see the Supplementary Appendix, Table B (Mask Outer Layer) column.

-see https://www.thelancet.com/cms/10.1016/S2666-5247(20)30003-3/attachment/34ed069e-7268-42ae-8627-df3aa869d81b/mmc1.pdf

I'm surprised at the error in their article, as it is one of their principal findings.

We have enough drugs available to have lowered the number of deaths far below the projected curve. That’s the indicator that its working, when actual numbers begin to fall below projected numbers. I’m not saying HCQ isn’t working to some degree. I know it really helped my niece. It’s just not working as well as we/I had hoped. It doesn’t appear to be a miracle cure, unfortunately.

That's not what their research showed. Their researched showed that a detectable level of infectious virus was present on the outer layer of a surgical mask on day 7 (∼0·1% of the original inoculum).

It would appear so. Some believe the SARS, or maybe it was the MERS vaccine, which many Italians took years ago, may have made them more vulnerable to the CV.

True. But, there isn’t remotely enough extra (or even quickly developable) hog production on the planet to make up for China’s shortfall. And, it’s not just China’s shortfall. Other countries have been hit too.

“Detectable and transmissible are not necessarily the same.”

And, as I’ve been (essentially) saying: “Transmissible and infectious are also not necessarily the same”.

In other words if you’re reasonably healthy and pick up a relative handful of virons, your immune system will wipe them out without you ever knowing it. You need a concentration large enough to overwhelm one’s immune system - which I why I don’t worry about it to the extent others may (such as by spraying their mail and their food). I’ll also get near others, providing that I’m upwind.

If the above wasn’t true, the virus would have infected at least half of the country in February, when we had no mitigation to speak of and we were importing sick people from Asia and Italy by the planeload.

I’ve seen that stated.

I know the poster who said it.

I’ve asked him *repeatedly* to give documentation of such.

I’ve been ignored each time.

*I* can find NO such vaccine was given *anywhere* to *anyone*.

If you have any documentation that such happened, I’d love to see it. A brand/commercial name, company that developed it, etc. Anything.

Just saying that we can’t hold China over an agricultural barrel anymore. It isn’t the 1990’s. Argentina and Brazil are HUGE ag producers now.

And the Chinese own a LOT of acreage there and in a lot of other countries as well.

If they were worried about getting food from the US, they wouldn’t have threatened to hold our antibiotic supply hostage.

But, without successful treatmets ,I see no change for us

Was talking abut this at work today and what may be required before states that have ordered non-essential workers to stay home

The consensus among our little group was there needed to be wider scale testing and wider scale availability of treatments that can be prescribed by the MD, PA, NP, etc. Not exactly a shocker.

Until then, we concluded we could see 1) temperatures taken prior to entering the building 2) social distancing by means of staggered work times / 25-50% of the staff working at home at any given day 3) recommendation to wear masks / covers 4) closure of selected common areas were people may congregate, etc.

Wow, that was sometime back when I read that. I remember it was a vaccine the Chinese had developed and that it had proven to be ineffective.

Did some searching but I didn't find anything related to what I read. They do purge the internet of negative articles - and this is the Chinese we're talking about.

I only found this:

Flu Vaccine Increases Coronavirus Risk 36% Says Military Study

I thought the consensus was the models were all wrong, nobody has actually died FROM CV and this was all a hoax to crash the economy? And moreover, it’s not as bad as the flu.

Honest question, when we open up nationwide (which will depend on the governors, not trump), what do you think will happen?
