Yesterday's thread here:

The empty ED makes me wonder just how many of my fellow citizens treat the ED as a GP’s office.
I remember Trump stating that because had a big aw moment when he stated that.
When. measles was killing people in the first 60 years of the last century it was a pandemic. There was no vaccine. We did not shut down anything
Measles has not always had a vaccine.
I listen to the first few minutes, and if Hannity is going to go over old territory I shut off the sound until a guest appears
Even then Hannity interrupts his guests and talks over some of them.(a bad habit picked up by many Fox interviewers)
Also Fox has someone telling Hannity and others things through their earpieces-I suspect some of it sounds like 15 seconds left to commercial, hurry him(her) up.- Tom
Not true
“How many will be saved is not relevant to their argument. “
If it can’t be proven, why would they concede the point?
It will never be acknowledged.
Never.
Really. What was shut down and when
“... As an essential employee with ongoing exposure to patients testing for COVID-19, she follows this strict cleaning routine. I take my shoes off, spray them down with disinfectant, go straight to the laundry room [and] put all my clothes in the washer. I start the washer and from there, [go] to the shower, before I touch anybody or say hello to an anybody, she said. In the morning we load the washer with soap and open the washer door so all I have to do later is put my clothes in the washer and turn it on. “
Also like the people who now make fun of books like The Population Bomb, because the population is not nearly as high as predicted.
Um, just maybe it would have been a lot higher without those books?
Measles has been around for thousands of years.
In that time period, it’s been a childhood disease.
It came in waves, yes. But at no time were the majority of adults over the age of 15 susceptible to it.
Ever.
Ever since it probably species jumped as ‘rinderpest’.
You didn’t have an entire population of 40yr olds who were susceptible to measles.
Unless you want to include the native Americans? Cuz yeah, that’s what happens when you have a ‘novel virus’ and a population that’s never seen it before.
My daughter routinely does this coming home after working in ICU always has. This aint new
They would shut down entire cities. Especially along the train routes going through Ohio, Illinois and towards the west. Trains would stop, put supplies and food on the platform. No one would get off or on. They wouldnt even pick up mail.
“Scientists are trying to develop broad anti-bodies for Covid-19. After a month at home, eating non-stop, with no access to the fitness center Ive developed my own broad anti-body.”
Hmmm, we know the virus prefers obese people...
Gee, maybe the reason for the quarantine is the aliens want to fatten us up?
Ya gotta wonder.
Hubby and I have looked at the stuff that’s continually sold out at sams, walmart, kroger, amazon...
People aren’t going to weigh 250lbs anymore...they’re going to weigh 350lbs.
“Rush just called Trump incompetent.....:(”
If Rush truly thinks this Just a Flu, I can see why he would have that opinion. Remember it is President Trump with his team that gives the Coronavirus updates everyday encouraging the public to social distance. This means President Trump is not a Just a Flu person.
In a Just a Flu eyes, the President is destroying the economy, this is why Rush has turn on Trump.
I will just leave it at that.
Trying to keep it light here while the peak bad news pours in.
Hopefully we’ll see encouragement next week.
Europeans brought measles with them when they arrived in America. It was already a childhood disease then. In America, among Europeans, it has never been a big killer. It probably killed a lot of the native population, but there were many "new" diseases doing that.
I've listened to most of Rush's shows since around 1991, and there were always a couple of subjects about which I always ignored his views. One was international trade and international commerce in general, and the other was health and nutrition.
He's always had some contrarian views on health and nutrition matters and his current opinions don't really surprise me. I just ignore that and am not listening much currently since everyone is spending so much time on the coronavirus, including him.
“The only thing Trump has done involves production of essentials, shut down international travel and threaten to cordon sanitaire NYC metro.”
With due respect, I disagree.
He is the principal cheerleader, and has essentially branded “social distancing” as his own. He also made it a political imperative in every state.
Donald Trump owns the shutdown.
Whether good or bad, it’s all him.
