“normal hasids like me”!? Do you realize how that sounds?

You can try to say that you are one of the “good Jews”, but that will never work.

It also is not fair to ask gentiles to carry a mental clip board and decide whether you are one of the”good Jews” or you are one of the Jews who should be extirpated.

We all can condemn the behavior of people who refuse to socially isolate themselves. However, once you condemn a group of Jews (the “bad hasidim?”) to calumny because you believe you are different, you are living in a fool’s paradise.

Monsey, New Square, Kiryas Joel.

All have significant issues getting along with others.
All practice separatism, some more than others.

BTW - do “normal Hasids” like you regularly bad mouth your Haredi brethren like that? curiouser and curiouser . . .

“As of 2018, New Square is by far the poorest town in New York, with a median annual household income of $21,773, which is nearly $5,000 below that of Kiryas Joel, the next poorest town in the state, and only about a third of the median income across the state as a whole.”

I get it. You don’t need lots of cash income in many communities. Big families, low income, Social Services for everything.
