Why is Africa not seeing these kind of numbers?
Maybe it’s not about race.
I think it’s a cultural thing. Asian cultures seem to take the most care in personal protection. The West not so much. Third world countries, probably even less. And then there is the availability of PPE issue for each country.
“Why is Africa not seeing these kind of numbers?

I think it is the living condition in the public housing. I was talking about countries not reporting their outbreaks.
Example: The numbers of death in Ecuador are not reflected in the counters.
Maybe poor countries do not have the resources like the USA, Italy, and other countries to collect data with.
In the end we are going to be very shock on how many death there is in the world.
Blacks and native Americans have large numbers of people with diabetes and/or obesity, which might explain why they appear disproportionately affected.
Of course, liberals are already hollering that it is because they are poor and dont have access to good healthcare.

I find it amazing that a country so close to the origin is so late to declare an emergency.
Which US States Have The Most At-Risk Seniors?

My point is that Africa, so far, has a pretty low China Flu death rate, considering.
The post I replied to was implying NY China Flu deaths seem to be disproportionately going after blacks.
Maybe people in Africa, don’t have diabetes, in large numbers like many folks in NY/America do.
All of the taxpayer dollars thrown at free food, housing, healthcare, education, etc haven’t remedied the obesity problem, within the lower income groups.
Yes, and also their ability to get good numbers might be an issue?
Per your link....
Maine, FL, WV and Vermont have the highest at risk/elderly populations.
Now, what percent of those seniors have high BMI, existing diabetes and/or respiratory conditions?
Could be.
But, we seem to be taking each country at their word.
Good question.
“Covid-19: four fifths of cases are asymptomatic, China figures indicate...”
IIRC the source of this is GP Jim Hoft and it is probably BS.
He is rolling the mild cases - mild meaning up but short of needing hospitalization - into the asymptomatic stat.
There are plenty of asymptomatics, but this is just one of those FluBro tactics to diminish the danger of the disease by pretending everybody has already had it.
We won’t know how many have already had it until testing is much more expansive and an antibody test is available.
Assuming immunity even lasts and is cross-strain.
There are two main types being talked about S and L. L is for lethal, I guess S is for serious. Certainly the large number of Chinese returning to their jobs in Italy could have been carrying both kinds, but the L form definitely got the upper hand. I think I saw that the west coast mostly got the S form.
Once this virus gets going in countries like Africa, India, Pakistan, Mexico, and other South American countries, it could be devastating. It will be hard to keep count.
