What is currently trending on Facebook, in Canada, is the lack of facemasks. They blame Trump for taking care of his country first.
My response to them has been to ask, "Why did Trudeau not take steps to address the shortage before the pandemic?"
No sympathy for them. Go to You Tube and see for yourself how much Canadians look down their noses at us. They hate everything about us and the LOVE flaunting their ‘’free health care’’ in our face. But when the SHTF they come begging to us for help. I’m due to go back to work on Monday. Because I work in a hospital ER I was exposed to this Chinese pestilence four times. I didn’t develop systmptoms, I just hope to hell I’m not a carrier of this sh!t. And I was wearing protection. F the Canuks. Their ‘’free health care’’ should take care of them.
I would be just happy if Alberta petitioned America. We have what you want, third largest reserves of energy, and my province would have realrights.

This is just another non story from the drive bys in Toronto. If I understand correctly, Trump just simply told 3M to prioritize their production for American demand, given the current situation as opposed to just simply selling to the highest bidder internationally. I get fed up listening to snarky, ignorant, petty, and puerile remarks from many in my country who just like to carry on with “Orange Man American bad, multicultural tolerant inclusive Canada (or even more so Toronto) the Good”.
Amen. You’d never know that listening to them.

My view (also from Canada) is that it forms part of a predictable situation, we need to have our own domestic industrial source in place and should have had this from February rather than thinking about it now, of course if the U.S. faces a shortage then they won’t be exporting. On the other hand people should realize that we were going to be paying 3M for these, it was not some handout that was expected. And maybe we still will be paying them just on a slower schedule.
Canadians have a privileged view of themselves, in respect to their relationship with the United States. They want the same rights as an American to come into your country without passports and whatever, but they also want to retain their Canadian identity because they think themselves better than Americans.
I should point out that this is a Montreal-Toronto-Ottawa viewpoint and the general liberal outlook.
It isn’t a conservative Canadian viewpoint. Canadians, like me, believe that if Canada wants to be a separate country,then it should be treated as such. If they want to be treated as semi-Americans,then our laws should at least parallel American laws, including gun rights.
