Veryyyy Long article, enough charts (10) to make your eyes bleed:
America becomes first country in the world to hit 1,000 coronavirus deaths in 24 hours
Wednesday’s increase of 1,047 is the single highest reported increase of anywhere in the world in a day

No kidding.
CDC was already on shaky credibility ground, before China virus.
They are deader than dirt, to me, now.
SC to give first responders virus data to help protect them
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) South Carolina public health officials are creating a statewide database of addresses of known positive COVID-19 cases, a secure tool only made available to first responders who have argued the information could help protect them.

I’ve got six vac bags that I’m going to try to make into masks, so I can go to the store without losing my mind.
Our calculations a couple of weeks ago was that mitigation combined with lack of testing capacity (lab and PPE equipment, lab chemical constraints) would so muddy the waters that April numbers would make no sense and have no logical pattern.
That means decision-makers will be flying totally blind from here on out...so glad I am retired... :-)
It was horrific. It was like the devils hands were strangling me and holding me down and laughing in my face.
Its the deepest, darkest place weve ever been.
We just thought that if we dont wake up, its not the end of the world.

Daily Mail is just a barrel of laughs this morning
Coronavirus may cause brain damage by triggering dangerous inflammation that can cause bleeds and cell death
A 74-year-old man and a 58-year-old woman are among the US coronavirus patients to suffer neurological problems as a result of the virus
Scans of the woman’s brain taken at a Henry Ford Health System hospital in Detroit showed lost density and brain bleeds
She came to the hospital lethargic, confused and disoriented
Doctors discovered cell death and lesions in parts of her brain...

Taking COVID-19’s temperature: 2% rise in fevers in Maine and ‘high’ rates in Florida could make them the the next coronavirus hotspots while daily ‘smart thermometer’ data shows illnesses declining in every other state
I concur. Nerves of steel are a job requirement. His were aluminum. Or, re: Daily Mail articles I just posted, he could also be infected and experiencing the 'confusion' aspect. Either way - unable to perform
Looking at countries around the world today, two countries stand out as up and coming hot spots:
Sweden (often discussed here):
69 deaths today
308 total deaths
Brazil
82 deaths today
324 total deaths
Keep an eye on these for the next couple of weeks...
Well he certainly seemed to have a bug SOMEwhere.
“Ive got six vac bags that Im going to try to make into masks, so I can go to the store without losing my mind.”
Someone had posted a comparison of options to masks - vacuum cleaner bags were the best of something like 12 options. Makes sense to me.
Ditto.
Enough of the CuomoBros.

I believe it was LilFarmer who had posted that mask material comparison list.
It seems like a dish cloth (the tightly woven ones?) came in high, on that list.
Yep!
Necessity is the mother of invention. If I can make a decent mask, I can wear that with some goggle glasses that I have, and wear some of my vinyl gloves, and hopefully get six store trips out of that, even if I look like a goofball doing it.
