It's Time To Get America Back To Work
My Opinion | April 1, 2020 | Me

Posted on 04/01/2020 10:43:18 AM PDT by captain_dave

The Wuhan Flu is continuing to be a serious disease for America and the world. But I'm hearing more and more people expressing doubt they can remain solvent if this lockdown continues. Let us not win the battle but lose the war.

We have a workable treatment protocol with hydroxychloroquine, z-pack, and zinc. I believe the right move now is to get people back to work. We can all help each other by watching for flu symptoms and expediting treatment. A flu vaccine will follow.

The Press might scream that the President is putting people in danger, but most people I've spoken with in the Tampa Bay area of Florida think this pandemic and quarantine is way overblown. The real numbers we've seen show it's a serious flu, but it is not a plague. Unfortunately, the press and some States are acting like this is the Black Death. If we continue to keep America closed we will cause far more damage than any enemy could.

50-75K per month are NOT going to die.

Even the most pessimistic modelers show this peaking in 2 weeks and death rates starting to decline. May will not have as many as April, and June will have fewer still.

I have already apologized to the members of my extended family that are young ( < 40 ) for the pathetic fear mongering behavior of the boomer generation. I told them I was embarrassed and hope you don’t hold all of us boomer types responsible for all of this madness and chaos.

Ya, let’s all go back to work while the predictions are 50k to 75k per month dying

It's crazy to think that is going to happen.

Thank you for that.

I am likewise a Boomer and am not panicking.
If my number comes up in this, oh well, guess it’s time to go and meet Jesus.

Any calm, rational reading of the numbers tells you that this is serious but not cataclysmic.

No, not crazy. Just dumb. Stupid.

80,000 reportedly died from pneumonia and 60,000 from the flu.

How many died in vehicle crashes?

Should we ground all vehicles, trucks most definitely, for six months until we get a cure for crashes?

Wu-flu is a clear danger, but so is an economic collapse.

In North Carolina alone, there are 370,000 hospitality employees out of work. Just the tip of the iceberg.

Really, because that’s exactly what they said in yesterday’s presidential briefing. In fact, President Trump himself said that. How do you think we get to 100k deaths in two months?

I think the 100k to 200k fatalities are over the full Coronavirus cycle which will be more than two or three more months. Also, Fauci and Birx hedged their forecasts by saying “as many as”.

I watched the PBS documentary on the “Polio Wars”. Polio struck this country in multiple waves, hitting children hard, until the Salk vaccine came into existence in 1955. Yet the country continued to fight wars, make things, and run businesses while putting certain individuals in quarantine and make iron lungs and crutches for those who needed them. We seem to be changing the symbol of our country from an eagle to a sheep

To late....with the idiotic actions and statements by Bernie, Joe, Nancy, Lieawatha etal the WORLD is convinced that ALL of us over 70 are a bunch of neurotic old fools that can’t put a sentence or a sober thought together..

I had been ‘fooling’ all for the last 10 years now all look at me like I am one of ‘them’.

Kind of reminds me of the old chestnut of the office crew having a few beers for lunch and the boss told them to stop so they shifted to Vodka as it doesn’t ‘smell’.

After a week the boss BEGGED them to have a beer or two at lunch, he would rather the clients think them drunk not stupid.

19,005 new cases today and 556 dead thus far today, those numbers will likely double before the day is over.

n the late 1940s, polio outbreaks in the U.S. increased in frequency and size, crippling an average of more than 35,000 people each year. Parents were frightened to let their children go outside, especially in the summer when the virus seemed to peak. Travel and commerce between affected cities were sometimes restricted. Public health officials imposed quarantines (used to separate and restrict the movement of well people who may have been exposed to a contagious disease to see if they become ill) on homes and towns where polio cases were diagnosed.

"If we do things together well, almost perfectly, we could get in the range of 100,000 to 200,000 fatalities," Birx said after being asked about U.S. projections related to the outbreak. "We don’t even want to see that."

She added that the administration's models show a worst-case scenario of between 1.6 million and 2.2 million deaths if the U.S. were to enforce zero restrictions on travel and gathering.

The thing about 15 minute tests is that there are not labs staffed with people lined up waiting to give tests.

The hospitals and labs have been doing all of their normal day to day testing. Then you dump all of these Covid tests on top of that...and now you expect them to do tests for people who are not sick?

I’ll let you guys tell the labs folks.

You guys kill me. Expecting the docs to give accurate friggin death counts.

If I asked you what the return on a fund next year would be, there is no way you could guarantee a return (on an index fund.). You would use averages and estimates.

But when THOSE guys do it, you talk out of the side of your mouth as if they are just making stuff up.

How much do you want to bet there won't be 100,000 deaths in this country due to the virus?

Scientific models for years have been way off as proven by the constant doom and gloom climate change predictions.
