Summary of Michigan coronavirus at link.
I’m in Michigan as well and half-Whitmer outlawed cloriquine ans z-pac to treat Covid. I wonder why.
SE Mich. is an out of control Hot Spot and I’m not sure exactly who to blame, but the Governator Half-Wit is a good target to pin it on.
Macomb has a much higher death rate than Oakland or Wayne counties. I wonder why that is?
MI Data from 3/13/2020:
25 people test positive, 255 people under active monitoring.
MI Cumulative Data from 3/28/2020:
4650 people tested positive in state; Detroit & 3 surrounding counties (Macomb, Oakland & Wayne) total 3868 of the cases alone. 111 deaths so far.
Data from 3/29..
+836 new cases since yesterday.
+21 additional deaths
New totals: 5,486 cases - either #4 or #5 in the whole country
132 deaths
2.4% CFR (of confirmed cases)
Unless a miracle happens, and happens quickly, Michigan is in a heap of trouble.
Oakland and Macomb so far are around 3% on the death rate. This could be just the statistics in general (older folks in Macomb, Oakland isn’t far behind?), or the lag of when the people in an area got the disease against how far along it’s progressed.
I would point out too that I live in northern Oakland county, but in a lower population density area. Two and a half weeks ago when I went to Meijer (local version of Walmart), I couldn’t help but notice there were a lot less “local folk” in the store in comparison to all the shoppers, and the way they were shopping it appeared that the zombie apocalypse had started and I missed that memo. Unfortunately it appeared that folks in the higher density areas had quickly changed to heading out of potentially infected stores to do a lot of heavy shopping. With many people unaware of if they may or may not be infected, this only helps to spread things out quicker.
For those of you in parts of the country “unaffected” right now, keep your head on straight, keep the 6’ distance, don’t go out unless you have to. And remember the catch phrase for 2020: Hunker in your bunker!
Yeah, again for all of you non-Michiganders that have been introduced to our governor on the national news. Our governor is doing her best, but possibly doesn’t have the best background for what’s happening.
Just like in California and New York state, don’t take it out on the conservatives that are left trying to get the state conservative again!

However, she firmly ordered abortion places and marijuana stores to remain open as “essential”.
Churches, synagogue and temples are closed due to too many people congregating if 10 are present in the buildings.
2. 2.4% death rate with 132 dead. Taking that number out to 50 states = 6,600 which is less than the 2009 H1N1 flu pandemic. So what are we not being told? Why shut everything down?
3. I do not want to see anyone die, but I have never see actions such as these by the governments.
The outlawed treatment costs about $20 so if they can ban it long enough they should be able to come out with a $5,000 treatment which they can mandate.
I try to give people the benefit of the doubt whenever I can, probably to a fault. In this event however, there does seem to be metrics for the term “separating the wheat from the chaff” available to us.
There was a conversation I caught last week where Governor Cuomo was talking about some person from his staff that was responsible for asking for more money from the federal government. His comment went along the lines that the advocate wasn’t supposed to ask for a certain amount of money in bargaining, it was only to keep saying they needed more because that was their job. “Resource Hoarder” seemed like the best way to describe it.
Not outlawed. Very misrepresented here. See the letter for yourself:
Half-Whitmer is a typical woman D’rat politician. Much is over her head.
She (and most governors) did MI NO favor by not describing shelter-in-place many weeks ago. Could have explained that we would be able to go out for our weekly grocery shopping, go to the drug store and doctor, get gasoline, get restaurant take-out, get fix-it hardware, play outside, go for walks.
“Quarantine” freaked out many, thinking they’d be stuck totally inside their home. That was a terrible mis-step by our leaders.
Sorry I can’t seem to post graphics here, but take a look at this graph from this Reddit site:

Long and short of it, there’s a LOT steeper slope on the Coronavirus when you look at the number of days from outbreak due to the nature of the spread (infected people don’t know they’re infected AND can transmit before symptoms).
I’ve caught a few glimpses of the references to the “Wuhan Biolab 4” that this may have emanated from. Regardless of your views on this, treat this as a bioweapon that got loose (NOT saying intentional or implying it is), and it seems to have those characteristics and should be treated as such. And if you’re skeptical still on treating this seriously, remember the catholic church has essentially cancelled all mass schedules for Lent/Easter. That’s never been done in it’s history that I’m aware of.
