Hey folks, long time Freeper here that doesn't post much. Many comments at this site appear pretty spot on (and therefore not always politically correct). However lately it's been apparent that other parts of the country aren't taking this virus serious enough. I'm one of the first people in line to joke about stuff to take the edge off, but wanted to share the experience here to make sure everyone's aware this is an all hands on deck situation. I wanted to share what I've seen as Michigan appears that it will quickly follow New York in short order. If you wonder why, it probably has a lot to do with not only the offshoring a lot of local companies HAD to do to keep up with overseas competition (and therefore a lot of flights to China out of Detroit), but I couldn't help but notice a lot more vehicles from New York over the past month, and if you look at the news, now you know why Michigan is following them in COVID-19 stats by a couple weeks(!) Stay safe, stay home where possible.

Macomb has a much higher death rate than Oakland or Wayne counties. I wonder why that is?

1. 5486 Cases listed but only 3720 tested as positive? why the difference?

2. 2.4% death rate with 132 dead. Taking that number out to 50 states = 6,600 which is less than the 2009 H1N1 flu pandemic. So what are we not being told? Why shut everything down?

3. I do not want to see anyone die, but I have never see actions such as these by the governments.

Half-Whitmer is a typical woman D’rat politician. Much is over her head.

She (and most governors) did MI NO favor by not describing shelter-in-place many weeks ago. Could have explained that we would be able to go out for our weekly grocery shopping, go to the drug store and doctor, get gasoline, get restaurant take-out, get fix-it hardware, play outside, go for walks.

“Quarantine” freaked out many, thinking they’d be stuck totally inside their home. That was a terrible mis-step by our leaders.

for some weird reason, they didn’t include this EO from Gov Halfwit on their website:

TO: Licensed Prescribers & Dispensers

RE: Reminder of Appropriate Prescribing and Dispensing

Dear Licensed Prescribers and Dispensers:

The Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs has received multiple allegations of
Michigan physicians inappropriately prescribing hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine to
themselves, family, friends, and/or coworkers without a legitimate medical purpose.
Prescribing hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine without further proof of efficacy for treating
COVID-19 or with the intent to stockpile the drug may create a shortage for patients with lupus,
rheumatoid arthritis, or other ailments for which chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine are proven
treatments. Reports of this conduct will be evaluated and may be further investigated for
administrative action. Prescribing any kind of prescription must also be associated with medical
documentation showing proof of the medical necessity and medical condition for which the
patient is being treated. Again, these are drugs that have not been proven scientifically or
medically to treat COVID-19.
Michigan pharmacists may see an increased volume of prescriptions for hydroxychloroquine
and chloroquine and should take special care to evaluate the prescriptions’ legitimacy. Pursuant
to Michigan Administrative Code, R 338.490(2), a pharmacist shall not fill a prescription if the
pharmacist believes the prescription will be used for other than legitimate medical purposes or if
the prescription could cause harm to a patient.
It is also important to be mindful that licensed health professionals are required to report
inappropriate prescribing practices. LARA appreciates all licensed health professionals for their
service and cooperation in assuring compliance in acting responsibly while continuing to provide
the best possible care for Michigan’s citizens during this unprecedented and very challenging
time.

To stay up to date on the latest information regarding the COVID-19 pandemic please go to
www.michigan.gov/Coronavirus and the CDC site at www.CDC.gov.

Sincerely,
Deb Gagliardi, Director
Bureau of Professional Licensing

Forrest Pasanski, Director
Enforcement Division
