Report: About a dozen students have symptoms of covid-19 at Liberty University
BRET GIBSON | Sunday, March 29, 2020 7:40 p.m.
Around a dozen students at Liberty University in Virginia have reported being sick with symptoms that are consistent with covid-19, according to the New York Times.
School President Jerry Falwell Jr. asked students to return to campus last week after spring break.
I was one of the two people who destroyed the nuclear winter hoax. It was fun seeing hat the same people who promoted that concept, not knowing it was a hoax, immediately fell for and promoted the global warming hoax. None of the people who made these high estimates of American infected and fatalities had anything to do with the nuclear winter hoax (some weren't even alive at the time). I have no idea what their opinions of gloal warming are.
Half the American people becoming infected with the Wuhan Virus is definitely possible. I have a different opinion, of 1/3, but half would not be surprising. It will just take multiple waves over a period of about a year.
My opinion of probable American fatalities last month was two million but pleasant surprises keep arriving. At this point I'm definitely down to one million and am thinking of lowering it again.
"Dr. Birx said all of the flu models predicted somewhere between 1.6 and 2.2 million deaths if the government did not mitigate. It is not clear where she came up this this excessive number. Dr Birx said some models predicted half of the United States would be infected.Excuse me, Dr Birx...but are these models from the same "scientists" that predicted global cooling & global warming that turned out to be hoaxes?"
“Excuse me, Dr Birx...but are these models from the same “scientists” that predicted global cooling & global warming that turned out to be hoaxes?”
Her numbers are light, if the condition that “the government did not mitigate” were a fact. Fortunately, the government did mitigate.
Best results anywhere in the world for a first-world HCS that did not collapse - about 2% fatalities among the infected.
Penetrance of a “novel” disease, one for which there is no vaccine or existing immunity, 70% to 95%, depending on incubation period and contagiousness.
Now, that assumes people are milling around, willy-nilly, going to Mardi Gras, parades, church, school, shopping, Carnival, Spring Break, concerts, lectures, sporting events or running around hugging Chinese guys as a show of support. You know, stuff that would never happen during a global pandemic.
But, anyway, 0.7x.02x3.3e8=4.6 million. 4.6 million dead. If the government hadn’t mitigated and told people to wash their hands and avoid crowds. And that’s if the HCS doesn’t collapse.
He is one of the more hateful ones...there are some that are pretty nasty
What’s interesting to note is that he is really taking this harder than almost everyone else, and he doesn’t even realize it, or how easy it is to see.
Thats 259 deaths from cv in one day, in NYC.
If that wasnt sad, it would be hilarious. Did they think they would be immune?
Its the mindset, right? We see it here daily. I saw it on a Nextdoor forum today. The normalcy bias is at the level of delusion for some, and it is sad to me.
You appear to know nothing about how diseases spread.
It’s not the flu.
It kills 20 times as many as the flu. It is more contagious than the flu. We have no vaccines, no immunity.
The flu is everywhere. You can’t contain it. Everybody is exposed multiple times each flu season. About 20% of the population gets it, largely because we do have vaccines and some herd immunity.
So far less than 1% of the US population has been infected. Yet for the past few days we have more CCP-19 deaths than flu deaths on the worst flu day of the worst flu year. And it is just getting started.
Scale that up to a 20% infection rate and redo the calculation.
Scale it up to a 50% infection rate and redo the calculation.
Just because CCP-19 hasn’t killed as many people in 1 month as the flu did in six does not make it just a “bad flu”.
Without this response there would shortly be no HCS or economy for you to whine about. With it, there is a chance at getting back to something like “normal” in a few months.

134 Navy cases as of yesterday.
I saw that, about Rihanna’s generous donation, the other day.
When will the other celebs step up to the plate?
How about a Health Care Workers/Truckers/First Responders/Grocery Store Workers Aid concert?
Although, I still wonder how much $$ went to the farmers, from Farm Aid. And, if musicians/celebs truly donate their time.
I know Lt Dan Band would :-)
“Trusting govt studies is foolish is suicidal.”
Trusting your normalcy-bias is usually fine, but during some periods of history, foolishly suicidal.
And Trump stirred them up like kicking an ant hill today.
My uses is they were all in the stock market too deeply for their age. They are freaking out. I cannot imagine many of them have jobs.
I honestly believe that normalcy bias is how many, even here, handle this crisis.
Denial.
I’m seeing it within my own family. Most are aware and prepared, but some are beginning to freak out and tune out (friends/cousins). I make it a point to send a text, or call, every other day, just to say hi and see how they’re doing.
Quick field report:
My wife just got back from her shift at a N CT CVS.
The store was still out of all paper products and hand sanitizer.
The good news is that several customers were wearing some very creative home-made masks and plastic gloves.
The store shut down one auto-checkout because it was too close to the other auto-checkout.
The customers were very friendly and respectful, kept their social distance, and thanked her for being there.
Everybody there _gets_ _it._
I love the Lt. Dan Band - Gary Sineses book Grateful American is a great book, by the way!
