I have friends and relatives that have been doctors since before the internet. At least one of my doctor friends, 50+ years, doctor for 45+ years, would tell me if this was a hoax -or- the apocalypse. They say you and those like you are (paraphrasing) badly mistaken. Their actual words were less kind.
Many hospitals are mostly empty because they are ramping for an exponential increase in the number of former FluBros needing their services.
The hospital in my town is a CCP-19 treatment center. 1 customer so far to my knowledge. Awaiting an influx of de Blasio’s victims.
Atlanta, Albany (no, the other one), Boston, LA, NO, NYC and other places are already saturated. All those empty hospitals are to prevent the collapses of the HCS of those and other cities. Cases are to be moved to new hospitals to keep the full ones from imploding. Over the next few days there will be increasing reports of patients being moved out to other facilities to lighten the load.
They did that in Iran, BTW, and it caused a riot complete with arson of the facility with the relocated patients. The did it in China and it caused riots. They did it in Italy and it caused unrest. Other places as well.
We’re Americans. We’ll see how it goes.

Badly enough that when they do the census, before or after the peak, will make a statistical difference.
There is a doctor right here on FR who has said he personally wrote prescriptions for patients that were not infected, as a "just in case" type measure. And he is certainly not alone. It wouldn't surprise me a bit if somewhere near 1% of the population now has a course of HCQ in their medicine cabinet "just in case".
By that chart, 15 out of 16 deaths are actually CCP-19. And only 1/4 are reported as CCP-19 deaths. 1/4.
16 times the normal mortality rate. Multiply the CCP-19 deaths by 15/4.
(For the mathematically challenged: For each death expected based on prior year averages, there are now 16. They report 1 “regular” death and 4 CCP-19 deaths and attribute the other 11 CCP-19 deaths to what ever convenient comorbidity they can.)
That’s regional, for a place with a failed HCS, but what happens as the dominoes start falling?
Way back I said every time we lose containment somewhere it makes containment everywhere that much harder. Same applies to HCS. Every time we lose a HCS all the others are stressed that much more.
That’s why they tore up the roads in Wuhan. Cut off the infected limb rather than lose the whole body.
