PS, my sons coworker is waiting for a test from Monday. So my son is in limbo too.

Dr. Campbell - EU CDC is finally admitting CV isn’t going to be seasonal.
Madrid, Spain is sedating 65 year old CV patients to let them die peacefully due to lack of respirators. “Our health depends on everyone else.” Atrocious.
Stay home and keep distance outside. Should only do needful grocery shopping only.
LA county is buying 20,000 antigen test kits from SK.
Spain is on the right trajectory a turn for the better. Lockdown probably going to extend another 30 days. Madrid storing dead bodies in ice rink.
Italy will extend lockdown another 4 weeks. Imprisonment for those breaking lockdown.
Canada sent supplies to China back when and now China is returning the favor.
Rocknest Island, Australia is sort of an isolation area.
Every country needs to be testing, testing, testing and obeying lockdowns.
Some of the cart return guys wearing food handler gloves. Wife wore hers, but didn’t see anyone else with them on of 100+ people I observed at the local grocery.
Of course, I am on the other side in a town called - wait for it...Dacula.
I convinced my wife that we would need to teach our boys the facts of life - Hence the birds and the bees.
They keep me out of trouble and give me some focus and we get to enjoy the bounty given to us by God and Mother Nature.
Your professional opinion, I assume.
Hopefully, they’ll promote him to licking toilets clean, since cleaning supplies are scarce.
Unless your house is totally without so much as a can of corn, she shouldn’t be shopping.
Dear Freepers,
Risk communication is literally a science of how to talk to people in times of high concern and low trust. And we all see plenty of examples of folks getting cross with each other on Facebook, by email and Zoom.
Sadly, 70% of all communication is non-verbal, so social distancing really makes miscommunication easy right now.
With that as a prelude, let me give you some short fundamentals on how to use risk communication principles to get your point across.
People want to know you care, before they care for what you know.
Be empathetic.
Speak clearly and calmly.
Express optimism.
You have 27 seconds to state your case.
Every message has to have three supporting facts and/or credible facts/outside sources/allies.
Example
“I know you are concerned about your job; the Nations leadership is too. The Presidents team is working to coordinate federal response, the Congress is funding emergency economic measures and businesses everywhere are using creative strategies to stay at work and solve this health emergency. Together we will catch up and get ahead of the virus, and we will put a healthy, protected nation back to work as soon as we can.”
(You don’t have to agree with the example above; it is just an example.)
A lot of relationships will be broken over how we responded (poorly) in this period; some perhaps deserved so because of foolish actions but many not because of foolishness but because poor communication skills. (We can get to forgiveness later.)
I hope this short primer helps.
Will that allow for breathing, however? With some of these 3-D printed masks, they’re just one hard material that doesn’t allow for air exchange, so you could be wearing one to the store, and then fall to the floor from carbon dioxide buildup and lack of oxygen. Might as well have a tightened plastic bag on your head.
From reading the replies, to that vid, I don’t think I can even watch. :(
God bless and keep these docs/healthcare workers/first responders, who are fighting this, from the front lines.
“Dr Fergeson rebuked it yesterday”
The FluBros will try to get a little more traction out of
lies and confusion but it is clear they are mostly stuck
in their name calling phase.
My prediction is it gets worse. Pouty high-handedness
becomes snarling rage, accusations, death threats.
Fortunately, they are a minority. A sad, dangerous
minority
“Your professional opinion, I assume.”
And he’s not amorphous about it at all, just says it straight up, no qualifications.
Your grasp of simple mathematics is breathtakingly bad, evidently you only read how many died from estimates by the CDC.
Panda Breath.
Your IQ gets smaller if you square it.
Percent of patients testing positive for COVID-19
by United Hospital Fund Neighborhood in New York City as of March 26, 2020

You can see when it is getting “real” but test results are not catching up when the death to total cases ratio is high.
So, for the US as a whole the current rate is about 1.5%.
A nursing home disaster could make the numbers misleading in smaller states.
So far, the Florida numbers are in the range.
That will be the state to watch in the next week or two.
Probably not, but we’ve taken extra precaution. Including wearing motorcycle glasses for eye protection - plus she is O neg. and we found a source for zinc at the pharmacy there and needed to pick that up.
Lol
