A kid who licked toilets as part of the #CoronaVirusChallenge says he's now in the hospital with coronavirus. @gayshawnmendes was also just suspended from twitter
When I was at Walmart yesterday, there was a small supply of several different brands of toilet paper and an even smaller supply of paper towels. No napkins, few tissues, but it seems most other things are beginning to fill up the shelves. It was a relief to know that in shopping, at least, things are slowly getting back to normal.
Today, I’ll go to the local market and get a few things that Walmart was out of. They had flour the last time I was there, and in a rather surprising amount, as well as packaged yeast.
At least the gas pumps and the mini-markets are still functioning. :o]
There’s an array of carts strung with emergency tape to funnel people through the door at intervals of 6 feet. Stock is hit-or-miss. Some brands are not in stock. There were no chicken breasts, not even the most expensive.
Store-brand paper plates were back. People were getting paper towels and toilet paper, but only one package apiece.
So what hit us two weeks ago has finally made its way east. You have my deepest sympathy.
The wind is blowing again, like there’s no tomorrow.
I’ll be glad when this thing is down to a manageable level once again. My body doesn’t like doing things when I’m already tired.
Normality still a dream on the horizon for a while longer then.
Chicken and paper shortage continues here too.
Why Chicken, normally they are giving the stuff away. Most odd.
Thank you.
I don’t know why the chicken. Supplies of sausage are low, too, but that’s normal for our store.
Hey, y’all.
Good morning. How are you today?
The byos and I finished our puzzle.
Dafternoon, SG
My favorite place for chicken strips now has the area roped off, to prevent people from playing in everyone’s food.
But I was able to do most of what I set out to do this morning, and now, I’m going to sit and wait for the day to pass, while my fingers are busy.
Hiya!
That really is what it is like at the moment.
If I hadn't decided to return to work I'd be hammering nails into the wall with my head by now. (The walls are "blue" brick)
The first 20 went in a treat..... :)
For my sins, another resident of my household is eventuating an event in the middle of my workplace. I’m about to shuffle those under my direct control - Kathleen - off to Naptime with Extreme Prejudice.
Just today, my Favorite Daughter decided she would do her part to help me deal with the quarantine. Not realizing, of course, that what I’ve been saying for the last six weeks that nothing has changed but my shopping, was the actual truth. She suddenly wants to do “video chat through Zoom.”
I dunno. Are my kids really that insulated? They don’t really read my letters? Yep. I can believe all of it.
Life is still good, and I love every minute of it, even the ones where I don’t feel like my real self.
I don't know what "blue" brick are.
The most interesting brick I've seen locally are in a building in Baltimore called the Commerce Building. As far as I can tell, the bricks they used are "double-fired", being made normally, and exposed to a sand or ceramic coating that is then sent back into the kiln to produce a smooth ceramic surface on the brick, even before it is assembled into walls.
They even have bull-nose bricks for the corner. It's a lot of effort and a very nice, and very permanent, effect.
That building also has a mural dedicated to modern transportation around the upper portion of one well-illuminated room. Featured on that mural is a distinguished looking four-funnel steamship recognizable to most. Yes, lads and ladies, a painting of the Titanic graces a mural in Baltimore!
You've got to keep your eyes open around this town!
Maybe he means brick painted blue.
Cute kitty...
Afternoon All.

If you hit a normal brick with a hammer and bolster ,the brick breaks in half.
If you hit one of these with a hammer and bolster, the bolster bounces off. You have to really want to break that brick in half.
The building is made from them due to being built on very mobile clay. They can cope with significant flexing from the concrete raft.
They aren’t always Blue in colour, the term refers to the common name of Engineering Blue Brick.

“This wasn’t in my plans. Abandoned ship and headed for the sand. Oh, the Albatross crash lands.”
Oh, my, stuff is beautiful! I had no idea there was such a thing!
I can sleep happy, now!
‘Nite, Moosie!
