I am comparing the 2 to show that the flu is far more contagious and deadly, but no one is freaking out over the flu. I do this because hysteria & panic have never solved a thing, and it certainly will not solve this virus.
If you truly believe that it was a bio-weapon that was released on purpose, then get mad, don't get panicky and hysterical.
I must admit I certainly do not reject the possibility that it was developed as a bio-weapon, but as to whether it was released accidentally or on purpose is a case for debate. The fact that they covered up, arrested people who tried to warn the world, and destroyed samples certainly does not bode well for them.
But the reality is we still have to deal with the issue at hand, which is the virus and containment of this virus. Panic & hysteria does not help reach a solution. I agree with President Trump that we need to have a period of isolation in hopes that it will retard the spreading of the virus. I also agree that we need to fast track things we already have within our arsenal that has shown promise elsewhere. Furthermore, we do not know for sure if this was a bio-weapon and if it was released accidentally or on purpose, but speculating about that is not where we need to focus our attention on. But I am willing to bet the Pentagon, or should I say the Defense Dept., is probably already looking into this possibility. If it is found to be so, China will be the big loser. Let's not make us a loser as well.
What we do not need is for us to let the fear of this virus stop us and create a different problem much bigger in addition to the virus, and that being the destruction of our economy.
The numbers, even worldwide, do not justify the hysteria & panic. They only increase problems, they never fix problems.
Let's all shelter in place as much as possible to see if we can slow the spread. If nothing else it affords time for professional that deal with these issues to perhaps get a better handle on what exactly we are dealing with.
Thanks Robert, maybe you should read my reply to you again. I am not afraid of this, I go out to work every day among the uninformed. I perform decontamination of everything I touch multiple times daily, just as I learned in the Army long ago.
Do you see me spreading panic? If you do, you are the one who is afraid of current events. I only converse with the others here about data we see on outside sites, and I tend to pass along on the ground events from inside China that the MSM can’t - or won’t - give you.
I have been saying this is a weapon for two months. I understand why President Trump doesn’t declare it as such, as that would require a world devastating nuclear response. I see quite clearly from inside China that the less lethal variant of the virus was released there, and Italy/Iran received the weapons grade finished product. IMO the release of this was premature, most likely thru the sale of a test animal at the market, or the escape of one of them. October came early.
Those who cherry pick the death rate of this are with disingenuous or CCP trolls. The most devastating effect of this will be to either our health care system or our banking system depending upon our approach toward mitigation. If Trump plays FluBro and lets it run amok, our HCS collapses in many areas and the idiots panic en masse. If we social distance and slow the infection cycle, maybe - hopefully - we can bring about an effective treatment in that window of opportunity.
