Tricky situation.

I thought his comment about not being just the Gov of Houston, Dallas, etc., was interesting...that he’s the Gov of ALL counties, of TX...so, has to adjust accordingly.

He left that up to local authorities.

I haven’t heard of any of the metro Mayors/Sheriff’s shutting it down.

you're right to be angry at state management. The job of the Fed has always been in a role to protect intra-state commerce, and deal with foreign affairs. Whereas the states are pretty much little kingdoms, run by the Governor. It's up to the states to be prepared for anything, with the Feds as an emergency backup, not a primary. The governors have abdicated their authority and responsibility to their citizens and then scream the Feds aren't doing enough as if states are suddenly surfdoms of the Fed instead of stand-alone sovereignties bound together by the Fed.

The police forces exacted compliance in Singapore, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Quarantine was enforced on day 1 for every positive case.

Cases are considered mild by default. The 3% serious is just that not everybody is reporting the breakdown. Another part of the calculation is that since many of the cases are identified via contact tracing - not everywhere, but some places - they are still pre symptomatic (Rand Paul, for example). And some are symptomatic, but not serious *yet*. This seems to come in 2 phases for many victims.

From a doctor I know that is in the middle of this mess, the number is 80% mild, 20% serious or critical.

Trump just sent a message to Fauci about getting on with the malaria drugs without testing for years.

The governor of my state (CT) is the worst.

He is hiding behind Cuomo like a three year old kid grabbing on to his mother.

“Please tell me what to do. I have no f&^%ing clue!”

In Singapore they maintained confidentiality by assigning every positive a case number.

They then showed (publicly) their contact tracing for each new case.

So, you knew that case number 127 was a contact of case number 19.

They do not fool around there...

Trump says he likes Xi but is upset with them for not telling us. And snipped at prior admins for deals with China.

No, Fauci wasn’t there yesterday (?), either. Word was he was working. Maybe same today. Maybe Trump had a little understanding with him.

Trump said of course we’d test illegals.

LOL, Pence said the test was a little invasive and a bit of a pinch. Trump nodded.

It seems to me that places like WalMart should institute occupancy limits if need be.

On a personal note, as of today I am now unemployed (the companies I do work for are all getting hammered) and since all my present work is 1099, no unemployment comp. Have decent savings, but that won’t last long. Investments / retirement $$ (very modest) look like hell. SS is over a year off, and won’t be much, then. Wifey works as pre-school teacher (parochial school) but pay is crap. I think the janitor gets more.

Wunnerful.

Gonna have to get really creative & find an energy boost somewhere...

3 point 6 percent, not 3 to 6 percent. But those are the bogus Chinese numbers they use, so it’s just junk.
