R0 between 1.7 and 4. If it were just a flu-like R0 (around 1.5 or maybe less) we could handle this thing easy-peasy.

US set to overtake China as the world's highest number of cases (not deaths).

Which is an essentially meaningless data point, as there are suspicions that China is underreporting the numbers.

Alabama flu bros—not to worry—Mississippi is open for business:

Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves “has no intention” of closing the state’s beaches “nor anywhere else” due to #COVID19 currently, Mississippi Sen. Joel Carter, whose district includes the coast, tweeted. Alabama’s governor closed their beaches last week. |

Deaths may ne being lowered by effecti9ve treatment. Early to say though.

Interestingly if you move the two graphs so they match at this time, it requires, shows, a much earlier outbreak in Italy than assumed.

The hat and face cover - I don’t know what TPU is or where to get it. Maybe cut a piece of plastic like a clear shower curtain and sew it to the brim of a hat. Wouldn’t need it detachable since the hat is contaminated as well. Toss it all in the wash.

“Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves “has no intention” of closing the state’s beaches “nor anywhere else” due to #COVID19 currently . . .”

So many have said this and then in less than 48 hours they turn around and do it. I guess “no intention of doing it currently” means I’m not planning on doing it “right now.”

He must be trying to slow down the grocery store runs.

In your rush to post information from OH, no one knows what the hell you’re talking about. Slow down and post coherent sentences.

Again, you could probably go county-by-county: just open up each county that doesn’t report a new case 14 days after the curve flattens. Of course, the county CoC could convince a county government to lie about that just to get businesses running again (sigh).

NY: Cases 15,777 dead 114 serious 60 recovered 0

The extremely low recovered numbers are worrisome - 29 for the entire US

Just close the beaches (and everything else non-essential) in each coastal county that reports a case, Tate. That way, you won’t ruin the entire state at once, the way Maryland apparently wants to risk doing.

IOW, Ohio’s stay home order is just as half a$$ed as every other place which isn’t going to do much of anything. Stay home should mean stay the bleep home.
