Interesting. The president was just talking about the 2 hospital ships. He said the “Mercy” will not be used for coronavirus patients. It will be used, I think he said to free up hospital space. Hmmmm....
Then he mentioned that both ships are wartime hospital ships. He went on about the “stainless steel” rooms and mentioned that the “Comfort” had been worked on.

Why go to the expense of carting people off to Guantanamo when you could conduct the tribunals onboard the ship?

There is also mention in press conference and POTUS confirms they are considering some kind of early release for non-violent offenders in federal prisons ... if they need the room ;)
And then you can sail them to Gitmo after the tribunals.
Just guessing that this is to enable them to continue doing essential surgeries and other things on the hospital ships without fear of contamination from CV.
I can understand the reasoning though - viruses spread like wildfire aboard ship.
