And yet the death rate is an amazing 0.5%, and going down each day. This is a Fearper article plain and simple
Either the hospitals are getting a deluge or they aren't. The death rate doesn't change that.
A lot of these people are not in good shape. Obesity, terribly unhealthy diet, asthma. The city housing projects have many residents in the population most at risk. I would not be surprised to see a fatality rate rise and a hospitalization rate increase dramatically.
There’s a heavy taint of politics involved, no doubt. However, if you were in my demographic, you would be doing whatever you could to avoid catching this China virus.
Maybe this doctor will convince you this is the real deal:
https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/19/opinion/coronavirus-doctor-new-york.html
or this nurse:
If you don’t believe them, visit your local hospital and talk to the local doctors and nurses, and listen to what they have to say.
Where do you get that the death rate is 0.5%? The US is currently 263 deaths/19,650 cases = 1.33%.
yup
p/H is high
p/H == panic/Hysteria
Fearper- I like that name.
The death rate cannot be known until all cases are resolved (recovered or fatal).
I believe daily number of COVID-19 deaths in NYS and in the U.S. went down today.
Are the hospitals in New York starting to get a deluge of cases or not? Your "death rate" comments are an irrelevancy to whether or not that is true...this is the New York Times as the source, but also matches what is expected with the exponential spread of the pandemic. The "Fearper" meme is just shorthand to be used by those who refuse to discuss things from a basis of reality...as though being cute means things that are happening aren't actually happening.
Let's see what happens tomorrow, Sunday and Monday when there are no more available ventilators.
You are an ass.
We are 2 weeks behind Italy on the growth curves.
It’s 1/5th the size of the US and is having 600 deaths a day.
But keep that head firmly jammed up your butt.
I started a spreadsheet on 3/13/2020 and the percentage of those infected who died has gone DOWN every day since. However, I make the death rate to be 1.3% of those infected as of the time of this writing.
Why is the death rate so low and yet so many hospitalizations? Are they catching ppatients early? Are they admitting nearly all patients who test positive for Wanhu virus? Is it spreading so fast there that death rates haven’t caught up? Germany has really low death rates too. We are at 1.25 now and I bet it is actually lower. Yet Italy is so high. Strange.
Im tired too over this stupid reaction to this minor virus.
In the US, it is 1.3% (confirmed vs dead). Italy is over 8.5%
And yet the death rate is an amazing 0.5%, and going down each day. This is a Fearper article plain and simple
The increase in reported infections that makes NY the epicenter corresponds to the 32,427 tests given, with an increase of +29,124 since last week, and showing 7,102 positives, out of a total pop. of 19,453,561.
In comparison, California has done 11,487 tests, with an increase since last week 10,319, showing 1,063 positives, while the state has a total pop. of 39,512,223. (https://www.politico.com/interactives/2020/coronavirus-testing-by-state-chart-of-new-cases/)
Charts should show the % of positives in relation to the # tested per state and the ratio.
And if this is telling as regard medical personal, then NY ranks #3 in most active physicians per 100,000 population in 2018, while CA is 19. Also, at 1.8 staffed hospital beds per thousand people, CA ranks 5th from the bottom, while New York has 2.7 hospital beds per 1,000 people.
