I truly believe this was a weapon, but I’m unsure of the timing - I think it got out early, with some design features unfinished. This would be the weaker strain that started in Wuhan.
Given China’s horrible hygiene habits and medical system, it was allowed to run for a while as the CCP decided what course to take.
After realizing what happened, while they covered up the spread and made up the market cover story, they finished the design in a hurry. This was the more dangerous strain, weapon ready, and was deployed to Iran in order to blame the US.
5 years ago, the 2nd in command of the PLA published an article praising bioweapons as the future of asymmetric warfare against the West, and that they would strive to create ethnic specific weapons. The world thought it was crazy. In the years since, CRISPR has been used extensively by PLA scientists, and many of their agents in the Thousand Talents program have been involved in pathogenic research. The article was sourced on one of these threads at the beginning.
China wanted to get rid of Trump, no doubt. How many of their people would they sacrifice for this?? Many millions. That’s why I say the release was early - they gave us time to adapt, overcome, and counterattack before the election as a mostly united USA.
