Yikes.
Darn....big jump.
Family friend ‘infectious disease’ expert says expect 4 to 12 weeks of “social distancing”.
I’m a little short.

The last time I heard this many ambulance sirens piercing the NYC night was 9/11 . #COVID19 is slamming us...8000 cases and counting, hospitals full, #Trump declared us a national emergency zone. Things turned radically today....our surge has started. pic.twitter.com/jEwk7W2upe— Laurie Garrett (@Laurie_Garrett) March 21, 2020

Looks like they just dropped us down below Iran again. They reduced our count by 10. That’s how close it is. But I predict we’ll pass China on 3/25.
We will pass Spain tomorrow. China within a week.
Those numbers would work if the virus blew through the population at maximum speed.
However, we are taking a lot of measures to slow it down.
That is a good thing to keep from overloading the hospitals, but it increases the amount of time that the virus has left to get to spread before it meets herd immunity.
That is why many experts are talking a twelve to eighteen month time frame.

Yeah, says lots of uncertainty.
But that’s his best guess.
(Longer than I expected.)
The thing about herd immunity is that you have to catch the virus to join the herd!
Austin Meals on Wheels - Frozen meals were delivered the other day. Today, shelf stable boxed meals were delivered. Enough meals to last two weeks to help limit contact with volunteers. Volunteers are to leave boxes on stoop, ring bell and back up 6 feet, say hello and leave.
The frozen meals looked to be tv trays of the normal local prepared meals sealed and frozen. Don’t know what’s in the self stable boxes.

Yes, but they’re the only numbers we have for them.
That’s a given. As I posted earlier, SK’s struggles to control clusters shows China has the same problem. Like their early numbers, they are just covering them up. I have no doubt China has 500-1000 or more new cases every day.
Thats a new one
