I thought NY, CT and NJ were the trip-state coop, on this virus.

Is PA now part of that group, too?

“She set the example, unfortunately not many people in the family followed it.”

Sewing is not done much in this country because it so easy to buy stuff made in China. They are keeping their skills honed while we are losing ours. That could change, though. It might be a silver lining to this pretty dark looking cloud.

It is never too late to learn to sew. I saw a site not too long ago that featured a guy who decided to make custom seat covers for his jeep. He bought a used sewing machine like the model I have and learned to use it with no prior experience. It was an auto mechanics oriented site that a lot of men were commenting on and they were suitably impressed with his newly acquired sewing skills. I was too. The results were really professional.

I do not think they can deployed Federal Trumps in the US because of the Posse Comitatus Act. Federal Trumps can not preform law enforcement duties.

President Trump can invoke Wartime law to ramp up production of medical equipment. I think he can use federal Trumps to support the hospital (building and manning Mash units). That is not law enforcement duties.

Any law enforcement would be handle by the National Guard. The Federal troops might be able to act as support units, that is a gray area.

He’s a big fan of marijuana.

That might explain how he looks and talks.

the food packaging, farming and distribution are already designated as critical infrastructure.

Hard to tell from the article you reference. In fact you can't tell that at all.

It might be helpful to other FReepers that read the thread tp provide that basic info.

Yep, great movie. Nicolas Cage should have stuck with comedy. Could have had a great career.

Rather than closing down NY alone he wanted Pa to do likewise so his people wouldn't be crossing the PA. border making purchases etc......

Como really failed badly to get ahead of this and now adjoining states pay as well. I said when he first started his speeches that he was assuming Leadership of the East Coast and as far inland as he could.....he even spoke about speaking with the Governors of the surrounding states. I was livid!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Insurrection_Act

On September 30, 2006, the Congress modified the Insurrection Act as part of the 2007 Defense Authorization Bill (repealed as of 2008). Section 1076 of the law changed Sec. 333 of the “Insurrection Act,” and widened the President’s ability to deploy troops within the United States to enforce the laws. Under this act, the President may also deploy troops as a police force during a natural disaster, epidemic, serious public health emergency, terrorist attack, or other condition, when the President determines that the authorities of the state are incapable of maintaining public order. The bill also modified Sec. 334 of the Insurrection Act, giving the President authority to order the dispersal of either insurgents or “those obstructing the enforcement of the laws.” The law changed the name of the chapter from “Insurrection” to “Enforcement of the Laws to Restore Public Order.”

Yep...tobacco fields aren’t considered essential...prices will go up and he’ll be happy they do. It feels like payback because we voted for Trump.
