I had a couple of boxes of old masks (5 years +) sitting on my shelf. good 3M N95s.

I asked my wife’s hospital if they could use them, and they said no because they were expired. That hadn’t been cleared for them yet.

I took them to the MIL’s nursing home this afternoon. You would have thought I brought them manna from heaven. Same health system. That’s the difference between local and national managed. They said, “old is better than none.”

Once people get “excited” enough, they will let folks do whats best for them.

To measure effectiveness, they shot Bacillus atrophaeus bacteria (0.93-1.25 microns) and Bacteriophage MS virus (0.023 microns in size) at different household materials. They measured what percentage the materials could capture and compared them to the more common surgical mask.

The cases that we will find by the beginning of next week are already infected—they just haven’t been tested yet.

So, the 100k+ positive rate is already baked in the cake.

I agree with the other posters that the 100K milestone will seriously freak out the inside the beltway folks of both parties.

I saw that, earlier! I thought...hmmm...not sure I want to use a vacuum cleaner bag, for mask making...lol.

I like the dish towel.

I wish they’d tested felt. I was thinking that would work nicely, in between outer fabric and lining.

I have felt that says Made in the USA.
