Sorry teppe - that is called cherry picking. that verse must also be viewed in light of John 1:1, Colossians 2:9 Titus 2:13, 2 Peter 1:1, Deuteronomy 4:35,39 Deut 32:39 and Isaiah 43:10,11. Just to name a few. Those who bother to study the nature of God in the bible note:
1. There is only one TRUE God in all existence
2. The Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are all called God
You cannot 'checkmate' anyone on the basis of one cherry picked verse.
Yet another failure of the Triune God teaching when compared to the scripture.
Doctrine of the Trinity/Atheasian Creed says God, Christ and the Holy Ghost know all things .. and yet here are a few examples of God and Christ not having the same knowledge or understanding.
Mathew 24: (35) Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. 36But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
Mark 13: (32) But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.
Luke 2: (52) And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.
Luke 22: (42) Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
I just thought of another awesome scripture that contradicts the whole ‘Triune’ doctrine:
Matthew 27:46
46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
This particular scripture makes perfect sense to me. Jesus the Christ calling to Almighty God, his father in heaven.
Anyone care to explain to me how the non-biblical Triune God managed to forsake himself at the time when he needed himself the most?
