A statue of the Angel Moroni sits atop the Salt Lake Temple in a 2015 photo. The temple was damaged Wednesday in an earthquake that also dislodged Moroni's trumpet.
(CNN)The 5.7-magnitude earthquake that shook Utah Wednesday morning also dislodged a symbolic part of Salt Lake City's iconic Mormon temple: the trumpet of an angel statue atop its highest spire.
The temple is the spiritual focal point for the 16 million members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
"The trumpet on the Angel Moroni statue fell off, and there is minor displacement of some of the temple's smaller spire stones," said Daniel Woodruff, a spokesman for the church.

I know that it is NOT built upon knowledge; or a sincere LOOKING for truth!
Many other Christians know very little about Mormonism; or even false teachings in general.
Considering all the things written in the NT about them; I'd think that a Christian would want to expose them; too.
It seems that many have gotten the idea that, "Well; I've made it; let them find Jesus on their own'"
It goes without saying that the only Jesus who can save you is the One found in Scripture.
Not some fabricated being who doesn’t fulfill prophecy (virgin born) and is the half-brother of Lucifer (aka Satan).
Not to mention that their God the Father was allegedly once a man who attained godhood, ooops there goes eternal, without BEGINNING or end.
Kolob Arch, the world's second longest arch, is a landmark of this area.
I find this strange since most of the LDS doctrine is NOT found in the BoM; but in their OTHER scripture; The Doctrines & Covenants.
Why don't they ever get a 'testimony' about THAT?
Just make sure that YOU rely on the words your chosen religion teaches!
Great is the mystery of the Lamanite homelands...
But!!!
When we are finally ALLOWED out of our homes by our benevolent government; we can actually GO on a 'vacation', instead of a STAYcation!

I just KNOW that the Book of MORMON is TRUE!!!!
Ether 14:22
And so swift and speedy was the war that there was none left to bury the dead, but they did march forth from the shedding of blood to the shedding of blood, leaving the bodies of both men, women, and children strewed upon the face of the land, to become a prey to the worms of the flesh.

Have you ever been told by a Mormon, to experience a burning in your bosom, that the Book of M is true? I have news for them. That burning in my bosom, was indigestion. I STILL dont accept the Book of M. 👎
The Doctrine and Covenants Revelation given through Joseph Smith the Prophet to David Whitmer, at Fayette, New York, June 1829. The Whitmer family had become greatly interested in the translating of the Book of Mormon. The Prophet established his residence at the home of Peter Whitmer Sr., where he dwelt until the work of translation was carried to completion and the copyright on the forthcoming book was secured. Three of the Whitmer sons, each having received a testimony as to the genuineness of the work, became deeply concerned over the matter of their individual duty. This revelation and the two following (sections 15 and 16) were given in answer to an inquiry through the Urim and Thummim. David Whitmer later became one of the Three Witnesses to the Book of Mormon.

But; there WILL come a time when one must either step into the water or not.
Joshua 3
On the first Sunday service of every month, the faithful are invited to bear testimoniesshare their convictionsfrom the pulpit. Some smile cheerfully and say Good morning, brothers and sisters; others, overcome with spiritual emotion, start sobbing before they so much as adjust the mic. What typically follows in either case is a series of knowledge claims, for example: Id like to bear my testimony. I know this church is true. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet. I know that Gordon B. Hinckleythe prophet for most of my youthis a prophet today. The testimony-bearers always conclude with In the name of Jesus Christ, amen. The congregation always echoes: Amen.
My family attended church almost unfailingly, so I was very familiar with this ritual as a kid. Over time I noticed that testimony-bearers tended to use the same cadence and intonation when they spoke. The words Id like to bear my testimony; I know this church is true, which were always said in a particular way, seemed to be wearing a deep groove into my brain. I wasnt very old before I came to dislike testimony meetings. I couldnt bear to see adults cry in front of other adults. One especially excruciating testimony stands out in my memory: an old woman tearfully described how she had prayed for relief for the puss-filled spider bite on her cheek. Thankfully, the swelling went downevidence, she thought, of Gods concern for her.
Sometimes when the weepy ones started, I would rest my forehead on the pew in front of me and wait for them to finish unbosoming. My mom would tap me on the shoulder and tell me to sit up straight. I might have silently prayed for God to hurry one or two of them along. The testimonies of the young children, the smallest of whom could barely speak, disturbed me more. Sometimes kids would go to the pulpit themselves. In other cases, parents carried them to the pulpit, held them up to the microphone and whispered words in their ears, which they repeated: Id like to bear my testimony; I know this church is true in that same cadence. This was common though the church leadership officially frowned on it. The congregation seemed to find it adorable. But did they, or anyone, believe that young children were in a position to testify to us?

Perhaps; if you'd share your testimony with us; we could see the error of our ways.
Show us; from the book of MORMON that you claim (don't you?) is true; how our non-biblical Tri-une God is revealed as faulty in IT'S pages?
You are correct MM. Each cult, has its own false Jesus, like the Mormon Jesus you mentioned. Its a Jesus who does not exist. They preach a different gospel, with a different Jesus. The Apostle Paul had some really hostile words for the many cults who do this, in Galatians 1:8, But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. Why should we think of them any differently than Paul did?
Again, nice, good hearted people, but their religion is NO GOOD. 👎
I answered your two rainman questions back in post #142.
There is not need to continually ask the same thing.
Here is a copy of that post that contains your answers...
“ Is it true that you actually have no idea how to defend your own beliefs??? .... only to destroy other peoples belief in Christ?”
I believe the Scriptures, which are inspired by God, and not an event in history, or a Lying Prophet.“ Lets try again: John 17”
There you go again teppe. This is really all you have, isn’t it?“ The Doctrine of the Trinity is 1600 year old FAKE NEWS! The real culprit of your belief is the Roman Emperor Julian the Apostate who rescued the Nicene Creed from the dustbin of history. The doctrine of the Trinity doesn’t come from this passage, but it doesn’t sound like you understand that.
I sat next to a street person the other day at B&N, who kept blurting out conspiracy theories, over and over and over - to herself. She needed help.Your posts are becoming the ramblings of a FR street-person, teppe.
You have two points you continually blurt out, and none of us know why, since they don’t relate to what Christians believe.
But FRiend, you keep doing it. Please, for your sake, just pause and actually learn where Christian believers derive the theology of our triune God. Then you could discuss it rationally.
But keep in mind, that if you ever begin to ask questions about truth, you may come to know the Real Christ. It will be difficult to face up to the lies of mormonism FRiend.
To save time in the future, if you should blurt out these two mormon talking points, I will simply paste a link to that post.
Being a lightening rod is easy, when you are well grounded in God's Word.
And did you notice that teppe failed to answer any of the questions I posted??
I refer to these questions:
If there is more than one, how can they all be sovereign? Is there eternal polygamy? Where do the Mormon gods go for spring break? Kolob Beach? Are their wives not gods? Are their polygamous wives gods too, or just breeding stock? Did your Heavenly Father used to be Adam, who later became god? Was it another human? Since the Bibical God existed always in eternity, why didn’t any of your moronic gods? Did your Mormon Jesus start as a man and later become a god? And your Mormon hoy ghost, why didn’t he get a body?is he a god? Start there... Sorry teppe, but how many gods are there in Mormon belief?
Can you blame teppe for answering? It's a very embarrassing religion, once you look under the magic underwear.
No; they never quite seem to get that far.
They are trained to play on the offense.
they really can't resist a strong defense at all.
