Recommended to pour an inch or so out of the milk container first, because it will expand and maybe burst.

We've never had one burst, but they bulge a lot. And pouring a glass out might prevent this. After thawing out, shake vigorously for about 10 seconds and make sure to hold the lid on with one hand. Our last gallon is thawing out now - so we have to make a run to the grocery soon - not just for milk, but also for some fresh food items.

If the antimalarial drug really works, we’re already on the backside of this. TP futures are sadz

Wonder how many other drugs out there would work on OTHER viral diseases like measles, flu, etc that just haven’t been tried yet.

Department of Health confirms eighth COVID-19 related death

March 19, 2020

The Louisiana Department of Health reports an eighth death related to COVID-19. The 60-year-old individual was a St. James Parish resident.

Going forward, LDH will report COVID-19 related deaths twice per day, at 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., as needed.

While older individuals and those with underlying medical conditions are at greater risk, everyone can become exposed to COVID-19 and must be vigilant to protect their health. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, some of the serious chronic health conditions include heart disease, diabetes and lung disease.

For updates on positive cases and deaths, visit the Louisiana Department of Health’s COVID-19 webpage.

Everyone is warned to take the necessary precautions to help limit the spread of COVID-19 and stay safe and healthy.

These precautions include:

Washing your hands for at least 20 seconds and frequently
Covering your cough or sneeze with your arm
Avoiding touching your face
Routinely cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces
Avoiding close contact with others
And staying home if you are sick

I took Plaquenil for about a year after being diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis after chemo. Had to have my eyes “mapped” at an ophthalmologist and regular check ups due to that medicine. After a year, they said the RA had gone away. No longer take the stuff. Kind of wishing I had kept the unused prescriptions.

The Imperial Report, which everyone is reading, says we’ll have millions of US deaths in the next 18 months...

Let's corral it now and pray a vaccine/cure will be available before then.

Queens man dies from coronavirus after doctors sent him home

A 76-year-old Queens man infected with COVID-19 died after being sent home from a hospital to self-quarantine, The Post has learned.

Teodosio Torres had been rehabbing his broken hip at Regal Heights Rehabilitation for two months and had underlying health conditions of diabetes and high blood pressure, police sources said.

On Friday, he was taken to New York-Presbyterian Queens after showing potential symptoms of coronavirus— but was sent home the same day and told to isolate himself as doctors waited for his test results, which eventually came back positive for the deadly bug, the sources said.

His wife called the hospital Sunday when his health began to deteriorate, the sources said.

100k, 200k in credit card debt, less than 1k in savings, not abnormal.

At that point it sounds like the credit card companies are the ones with the problem. :-(

First coronavirus case found in NYC homeless shelter
By Michael Gartland
New York Daily News |
Mar 19, 2020 | 10:34 AM

A resident in one of the city’s homeless shelters was hospitalized after testing positive for the coronavirus — the first confirmed case of the disease in the city’s crowded shelter system.

The woman’s diagnosis forced the Department of Homeless Services to quarantine eight roommates in a separate location, but not to shut down the shelter completely.

If we can keep our tallies in line with SK (adjusted for relative population), or even 5x (pop. adjusted), that’d surely be a “win”. The fatality rate is concerning, but the denominator surely is way low - what is a “confirmed patient”, anyway? A “positive” test result?

Also...

You might be the best person here to ask / look into this:

How are flu (real flu) deaths going in countries hit hard by COVID-19, such as Italy? This is no “flu bros” comment: What I’m getting at is that almost certainly flu deaths jump too, once hospitals are overwhelmed.

(Anyone else can answer too, if they’ve seen any data.)

Obesity has been my big worry for the US.

Public officials are not talking about it.

It is the danger you don’t see that is the biggest risk—every time.
