In the Search box, type your headline or any key words you remember from your post. If the post wasn’t removed, you should be able to find your information in the page of results.
Ugh. I misread “Let’s Roll” as “Toilet Roll” and got all excited for a sec.
Did you use the Free Republic bookmark option? If so, then it is under the Announcement and Extended News area on the right hand side of the FR main screen.
Scroll to the bottom of your “Pings” (My comments) page. That’s wwhere FR puts bookmarks.
I’m surprised that no one has given you the info you need since a lot of FReepers can easily tell others how wrong they are. Here you go:
Go to:
Account
My Profile
Links
Everything you’ve bookmarked is there...if you haven’t deleted them and chances are you haven’t since you didn’t know where they are - don’t feel bad, I have to think about it before I can find them also!
Of course, thanks!
and how exactly do you bookmark something? Just post the word bookmark in the thread? I’ve seen people do that but figured they just do it so it shows up in the My Comments page
bookmark
That did not work!
The last on my list was from 2003!!!
Just at the end of the article after KEYWORDS, [ IN BRACKETS ], THE WORD BOOKMARK.
CLICK IT!
PPS
Check configure settings, at the very bottom of the opening screen,
bookmark
http://freerepublic.com/perl/bookmarks
I have stuff bookmarked there but always have to Add bookmark in the forms of a url directly from that page.
Should be like a button or something in 2020
This place is so 90s ;)
How long are posts available to review? And how do you find the oldest ones? I’d like to go back to 2000 and see if my opinions have “evolved” since I joined FR.
Just clicked the link; there are two bookmarked there. One from 2001, one from 2002. Must have accidentally done it, since I didn’t know how until this explanation.
“”and how exactly do you bookmark something? Just post the word bookmark in the thread? Ive seen people do that but figured they just do it so it shows up in the My Comments page””
I think I used to do the same but it’s easier to do this:
At the bottom of each thread/article, is a “bookmark”...hit that and it goes to that file...I go there periodically and delete what no longer matters or is of interest to me. It can grow pretty large and it’s like cleaning out a file drawer...get rid of what you don’t need...
“”How long are posts available to review? “”
“”And how do you find the oldest ones? “”
I’m not sure - but I would suspect not a lot of years. I’ve looked for really old ones before but it takes a long time to keep going backward and truthfully, I’ve given up before I get there. By that time I figure it’s not important and I don’t need it anyway. If there’s an easier way, maybe someone will chime in..
Always at the top of each thread’s post #1, click on “Bookmark” next to “Report Abuse.”
Ah, I see it now. Thanks
Seems like at the top, in the OP would be a better place for it. Some people don’t even do a Post #1 so what is there to Report? The OP? Then the link should be up there. UX design. Put things where they make sense.
