It may be irrational, it may be highly unlikely, it may be entirely disproportional to the actual impact thus far, but...
WHAT IF... What if Trump announces a 14-day US quarantine?
We Americans are a contrarian bunch... urban centers are not down for being patient or compliant... The Poor are not going to be able to survive for 14 days with their current resources, and they will not be able to survive a 14-day skip in their pay cycles...
I could deal with 14 days pretty well. The more advanced notice the better. I’m a single person, so that simplifies my concerns. I’m hoping we will have electricity and water, Oh, and wifi during that period.
If I must make a sacrifice, I could do without the wifi, and I guess even w/o constant electricity. I don’t think it will get to that point though, maybe after a tornado, but not for a pathogen.
Those people with children in school will have a far more complex situation, b/c that usually means they the parents are not working during that period.
Yeah, my bad;
The bearing of breasts would indicate a potential certain gravitas vs. an actual baring.
Or, who knows, maybe there are breast roller bearings...
More examination is in order....
What does Milwaukee Engineering have to say?
Don’t get caught! 8^)
Hug a Trucker! (Well maybe hugging isn’t the best thing to do right now)
***The virus won’t magically disappear***
It’s not magic that will make it disappear, but summer temperatures and ultra-violet rays that will reduce transmission.
Every grocery store around us, from big chains to ‘Mom & Pop’ are well stocked. Nobody’s making a run on anything, from meat to Kleenex.
Or are stupid about having minimal survival rations on hand.
Are you at liberty to drop any hints on who your sources are?
Just whisper it in my ear...
I noticed they said nothing about Gas Stations closing down, thank goodness. Just keep the gas flowing and the ATMs humming.
What IF? What IF? What IF? Seems that Three-Year-Olds are taking over FreeRepublic. Please, waste your time humoring my I have nothing better to do with my life than posing my HUGE what IF!!! Utterly pathetic.
Most likely there will be nobody out there to chase you down.
"They" will all be under orders to "work from home". Of course they will still be getting their paychecks. We won't, so how many of us will be able to afford gas for a joyride?
What limited patrols may still be authorized are going to be staffed by people who won't get out of their cars for any reason at all. "Observe and report" will be their orders. Let the EMT's and firefighters handle anything messy.
I am certain such things have already been discussed in planning session.
The US has 34.7 ICU beds per 100,000 people.
Italy has 12.5.
Do any of you people have any conception of what happened in this country during World War II?
Sheesh, what a bunch of panty-wadding lunatics!
It’s a Hemi.
Try me.
:D
Milwaukee Engineering says always roll the throttle in the curves.
:D
Nope, my very small town has only ONE grocery store.
Some here would say their standard prices are usurious.
Still well stocked and even the TP remained on sale as of yesterday.
No way the few local restaurants can be closed, too many folk simply do not cook anymore, or maybe are unable.
Truthfully it’s cheaper to buy the daily special than to cook at home, so fixed income folk go out for most of their meals.
I’m less concerned with the short term effects than the longer term.
When I had the opportunity to speak with my Grandmother about hard times, I actually listened and learned. Thankfully, all my neighbors did the same.
Please tell me it’s a 392 or better.
:)
I type corrected, then. However, that number doesn’t always tell the entire story. My Dallas suburb, which has over 100K people has a hospital with a grand total of... 8. (Was just over there visiting someone who discovered gravity after being launched off a motorcycle.)
Also, I see that number is a few years old - seen any data reflecting all the inner city hospitals that shut down since then?
You mean like roll up your sleeves or just take your shirt completely off?
