50 people. That eliminates most everything. Church, the grocery store, school, work, plane, train, etc.
Pests have pretty much ruined this thread. That’s why I don’t like new daily threads. Let it run for 3000 and they forget about it. All I’ve done is scroll, scroll, scroll.
People should start hitting the abuse button and/or don’t feed them.
The irony with the hand sanitizer thing is that washing your hands with soap and water is the MOST effective thing you can do to prevent the spread of the virus.
And yet so many people act like hand sanitizer is the salvation of the world.
I saw a couple young kids once, with filthy hands, grab some hand sanitizer to wipe on their hands before eating.
I said to them that their hands were filthy and they really ought to wash them first. I don't recall what they said to me, but I pointed out that the hand sanitizer doesn't take the dirt off. It just smears it around. With soap and water, you are actually rinsing the dirt off.
They looked at me like I had two heads. They didn't know what to say. They clearly had never heard that before.
With resolved cases only, the death rate is as high as 7 percent. But you have a point here, since if you take in an estimate of the vast number of uncounted cases, the resolved case death rate is ultimately going to be 1 to 3 percent (estimated).

MAYOR DE BLASIO: Tomorrow, I will sign an Executive Order limiting restaurants, bars and cafes to food take-out and delivery. Nightclubs, movie theaters, small theater houses, and concert venues must all close. The order will go into effect Tuesday, March 17 at 9:00 AM.
I like the baby wipes that people are using on their kids hands. Evenly distributes the dirt in a uniform layer.

I am from this point on. Unfortunately, I think there may still be a couple replies of mine after your post here but I’m done.
So if you see them, know that I’ve turned over a new leaf.
I like pork roast. Others like beef. I also like a bit of fat on the pork but the fat doesn’t last as well as lean so don’t go by me. People will start hollering about the fat.
I had turkey once but they dehydrated it into tree bark.
Mr. mm said that he talked to a friend tonight who works at a local hospital that has not yet seen any cases.
He said they were “preparing for the worst”.
I’m hoping that the measures that are being put in place, plus the hygiene that we practice that much of the world doesn’t, plus the population density so that it’s easier to socially isolate, not to mention the prayer and having a godly leader like President Trump, will turn the tide before too much damage is done.
And I hope, and pray, we learn from this. Because if this is indeed a bioweapon as suggested from the very start of the outbreak in China, there’s no reason to think that there could not and will not be another one.
In the meantime, we preppers have been vindicated and I think more people will be more ready for the next one.
Ouch.......

Reminds me that I gotta scrounge for a bottle of Vitamin A. It apparently boosts immune health. Thanks, RIF!
Cant find an answer to this anywhere: Is it just my impression or is it factual that lots of countries are totally up to speed on testing, and The US lags all of Europe on testing? How is it they are awash in testing access and we have almost none, when the tests come from Utah?
Cant find data on this anywhere.
Wasn’t it interesting they gave out everything on the lawyer. It’s not to hard to ask for just the town this rural guy lives in so I know if I need to crawl in a hole today or wait until tomorrow. No one needs to know his name or his shoe size or how he likes his coffee.
Honestly, I see the wipes as being better.
At last SOME of the dirt is being rubbed off.
But nothing beats soap and water.
Like Ignaz Semmelweis who was mocked when he begged with people to just wash their hands.
