Yes, yes. Red-blooded American paranoiacs cowering in fear, pissing their pants. The same breed of people who won independence from a country with a vastly superior military, sent men to the Moon, won 2 world wars.
What a legacy. Scared shitless over fever and chills.
It’s amazing. I never would have thought that Americans would be reacting like this to what is at worst a typical flu that, like any flu, kills some of the most vulnerable and just gives the great majority a few bad days.
This is insane. The economic damage is going to be unbelievable.
“Red-blooded American paranoiacs cowering in fear, pissing their pants.”
I’m sure they’re around, but I’ve yet to encounter one.
Serves them right. They'll have a lifetime supply of TP, and they're so scared that they won't ever need it.
Pretty much how I feel. I understand there are a lot of scared people (their flames of fear fanned by the instant and omnipresent media) and I sympathize. They may not have the resources or intellectual capability to collate the information and form a reasoned opinion of it...they just hear what they are told.
But I don’t get it. This isn’t the Black Death. If it were, yeah.
But it isn’t.
And the reaction I see from people is far more unsettling and disturbing to me than the virus itself. That is something to view with sober concern.
What I see doesn’t register with me as “sober concern” though.
