Yep.
Disinformation, on that thread/article.
First CT case in my county—but actually 40 miles away since I live so far out in the sticks...MA cases are about the same distance

14th Mar, 2020 State also identifies first case associated with a long-term care facility
SPRINGFIELD - The Illinois Department of Public Health today announced the first cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in central and southern Illinois. A Woodford County resident in his 70s and a Cumberland County resident in his 70s both tested positive for COVID-19. Additionally, two St. Clair County residents have tested positive a woman in her 60s and a woman in her 70s.
Possible exposures and travel histories for the two individuals are still being investigated and public health officials are working to identify and contact all individuals who are close contacts for these two cases.

And, this is without (hardly any) testing, either.

The man was admitted to the hopsital just last Tuesday and he's good to go. His wife was self isolating at home so guess they can remind each other not to go out to pick up the mail and contaminate the mailbox.

Ping!!
These are verbatim to what was posted on this thread earlier. Thanks.
Gas stoves are wonderful.
You are misrepresenting the numbers, apparently, deliberately. Are you working for the CCP?
Yep.
That guy.

(Good job)
Yep.
Mine has saved the day on MANY occassions....especially hurricane related power outages.
MO
As of Friday evening, Parson said Missouri had run 94 tests for the virus, with the two latest cases bringing the total number of preemptive positives in the state to four.
fox2now: The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services reports that a person in Henry County was hospitalized at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton. He was then transferred to another facility on March 8 where the patient currently remains.
j/k = just kidding (I believe)
“People would be STUNNED to see how many children have died of the flu!!!”
About 150. While every death is a tragedy, and kids’ deaths even more so, children dying from the flu is an overstated statistic. One kid dies and it’s bigger news than 100 old geezers.
Everybody has been exposed to the flu, multiple times every season. Every exposure to CV is a new one. There is no herd immunity, no vaccine. Keeping the number of sick to a manageable level is critical or we go the way of Italy and Wuhan.
Cesar Chaves HS, in Houston...has LONG a$$ lines for all of the FREE food being handed out by the cartload!
The mostly look hispanic....one hispanic lady saying, this is especially helpful, especially when you have a family of five, or eight.
KHOU 11 listing the locations for the Free Food locations and the schools who are ALSO handing out FREE meais.
I wonder if Joe Taxpayer could stand in that line, for free food.
After dealing with enough freezer burned meat, I decided that pressure canning was the way to go.
For me it also frees up freezer space for other items that most people don’t think of freezing and you can’t can, such as nuts, spices, brown rice, and other grains, and some veggies that freeze better than they can, which IMO, is most of them.
I’m going to use your post to add some real information on NUCLEAR plants, although this just as easily applies to gas, coal and solar plants.
1) Force on Force exercises are conducted every 3 years. These are exercises designed to cover all contingencies, from disease to war.
2) All operators have contingency plans including redundancy and crosstraining sister plants. These are reviewed on annual or special-event basis.
3) No, nuke plants aren’t all staffed with ex-military. Military nuclear experience gives you 6months credit per year towards experience. It can give you points, but so can other occupations, military and non military. Examples: Air Traffic Controller. Transportation Routing and Dispatch. Mechanical occupations.
4) A high school diploma is required to work at a plant. Your up-training starts after six months or so probation. In a few years of auxiliary operator you can apply for exam as operator thru the NRC, and a few more years you can apply for exam as a senior operator through the NERC. That is, with the right aptitude, maturity of spirit, intelligence, and additional education through college or specialized training coursework, you can achieve Sr. Operator within 10 years.
