Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf held a press conference this afternoon, on the sixth day after the first presumed case of coronavirus appeared in Pennsylvania.
Wolf said due to the rapid spread of COVID-19 in Montgomery County, special provisions will begin tomorrow March 13th. This includes the closures includes all schools (Pre-K to higher education), community centers, gyms, entertainment venues, and nonessential retail facilities.
Wolf advises that large gatherings of 250 or more people in Pennsylvania should be canceled or postponed. All religious leaders are asked to use their discretion to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
PA now has 20 presumptive positive + 2 confirmed cases of coronavirus. Total cases = 22
Counties impacted to date:
Bucks (2)
Delaware (1)
Monroe (2)
Montgomery (13)
Northampton (1)
Philadelphia (1)
Pike (1)
Wayne (1)
180 individuals are currently under medical investigation in PA.
The state will begin putting the plan into effect tomorrow, Friday March 13th, and it will last 14 days.
Wolf has ordered all critical infrastructures to remain open, which includes, health care facilities, government, grocery stores, gas stations, utility, public safety and correctional facilities and mass transit.

I still like the alliteration of “Wu Hu Flu”...
Wish it had ‘stuck’.
Agree. Some of the “flu bro” postings are classic examples of psychopathology.
Ok, thanks. I remember that piece now.
I’ll be surprised if it gets that high, but we’ll see.
reports from family and friends...now that the NBA cancelled everyone is starting to panic. So darn typical.

Social distancing works!
We were to leave in the morning for a cheer competition for my girls. Got email from our gym that they are pulling out of it. Was to be at ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando. I’m relieved to be honest. 25k cheerleaders and their families in that venue from around the country, international groups previously cancelled. Definitely an opportunity to contract this or many other viruses.
Thanks—we are talking about that last night—though we thought the Tom Hanks announcement might do the trick... ;-)
They knew what they were doing. NBA hates Trump more than anything. Especially LeBron. Wanna bet he’s the one who went to the Commissioner and demanded this?

Thats funny.
They still wont have women.
Test kits are like printers without ink...
France is Italy now.
no, US is in panic mode.
the fatality rate is nowhere near as high as some alarmist make it out to be, higher than flu but not like some assume. That is why no one, zero under the age of 10 has died anywhere in the world.
The country that has done the most testing that can be relied upon is S Korea , they have tested well over 250,000 and have 7,869 cases and 66 deaths for a fatality rate of .008 or less than 1%. That is more than the flu but nothing like what some are reporting here and in the news.
As a matter of fact if you add up the top 15 countries with reported cases excluding China, Italy and Iran ) you get over 20,446 cases and 247 deaths for a fatality rate of .012-about 1%. Probably lower and more in line with S Korea as many cases are even more mild. As more test are done you will see more confirmed cases and death rate dropping as it already has started to do that’s because it is more mild than reported for most people.
Lookner pointing out reporters squashed together for WH coverage.. “I hope none of these reporters have CV.”
worldwide conspiracy to get Trump, eh?
