Yesterday's thread is here:

It would involve a store visit.
But see if a grocery store near you has them. I’ve planted grocery store elephant garlic and it ‘went wild’ in one of my raised beds. That variety throws off little nodules that are difficult to find. So next year you get MORE garlic LOL. Volunteer garlic!
Kitchen Garden seeds had some not too long ago.
Burpee.
IIRC Jungs did too but not sure about today.
Parks, RHShumway, adaptive seeds, territorial seeds, etc.
Don’t know where they ship it from though.

You can also start ginger if you want.
Lots of instructions online on how to do that.
It probably comes from china but after a year or two it will be fine IMHO if you change out the dirt between replants.
Ditto turmeric
Rural area, Yep that’s not good. Plus. the unwillingness to test those who may have been exposed to the virus through someone who doesn’t meet the “old” criteria for testing.
Right after the CDC update at 1:00.
The manicure and pedicure salons here had lines out the door when W did that.
he had a preexisting condition.
we’ll find out later that preexisting condition was wuhan virus.
More likely, it was his manager or PR person who wrote the apology.
Oh yeah, forgot about johnny’s.
Fedco is great too!
Love love love fedco. They have really cheap ‘small’ packets of stuff you don’t need 50 seeds for. Or just want to try without spending $5 for a packet.
I’ve always wondered how well something grown for several generations in New England would do in the Midwest though. or visa versa or something grown in N.E. planted in FL etc
Thanks for the updates.
Houston ISD closed until 3/30/20, until further notice.
Fort Bend ISD closed for 2 weeks, beginning Monday (on SB, now), until further notice.
Lamar CISD closed until Mar 20, until further notice.
Most of the Katrina peeps descended on Houston area.....compliments of Rick Perry.
When their free hotels ran out....they were moved to free apartments :(
Crime rate in Houston went WAY up. EVERY handicapped parking space was taken, at most stores.
Most are gone, by now...but, a few straglers remain, I’m sure.
I know he will be questioned about Bolsonaro positive test.
Praying for our president.
Weird when he speaks of his wife and includes her last name. Who calls their spouse by their last name? Suspicious it is really their PR person doing the tweets.
They usually do fine for my garden.
I got some rice seed from sumdude in Indiana a few years back and it did splendidly.
You may have to be cognizant of WHEN you plant it. Some things might not like really hot weather and do better planted really early so they’d one by the 95F temps, or later so they’re maturing in the cooler fall temps.
I usually have 2 or 3 seasons of stuff, not counting stuff I try to overwinter.
*** Tulsi said she wants to give everyone $1000. Well, hope she has a large enough bank account. Oh, wait, thats our $1000 to begin with. ***
At least Tulsi has been sounding the alarm on Covid-19 since January. I would rather see $$$ stay here as opposed to the Gov’t pronouncement a few days ago we are going to provide more weapons and support to Turkey for their invasion of Syria. Turkey/Erdogan is not our friend.
Study the history on bear markets and how long they last.
That will tell you what you want to know.

Doesn’t rice need a paddy? You have a rice paddy?
I have a spot that’s always wet unless it’s June/July/Aug and hasn’t rained in a few weeks. Inch of standing water often. Doesn’t it take a lot to process it?
Regarding the regional thing. I’m going by what I’ve seen as reasoning for saving your own seeds, that after several generations, the plant will morph slightly into something perfect for your location/soil and be very resilient.
