Time to stay calm and continue on....
Yesterday's thread is here:

We just extended Spring Break by a week and only online classes.
There could be a vaccine in weeks.
OTOH, if food runs out, there won’t be much need for TP.
I can’t help but wonder if those people who are panic buying TP and hoarding it, have enough food to need all that TP.
Runner!
Third case in Dallas, Co., TX. 50 something yr old man in Plano who had traveled out of state to a large recreational event.
U.S. Senator John Cornyn announced that Texas will receive $35 million in funding to help with its response to the coronavirus from the CDC. The funding will be given to the Texas Department of State Health and San Antonio.
a need to limit liability for masks**
iirc, that pertained to allowing medical folk to use industrial-rated masks. (maybe thinking of OV P95s or similar?)
Hope is not a strategy.
“Looking at a cruise 60 days out, depending on short term discounts. I am a bargain hunter. It takes me 1 week to prepare for the cruise to make sure I have every little item packed which might need, and 2 weeks to unpack, do laundry, put away all the little items properly so I will find them again.”
That’s certainly better than 30 days out, but still kind of short. I’d still recommend holding out on booking, at least for a month. They’ll still take you then (they certainly will have vacancies!). I’m roughly the opposite - 2 weeks to pack and 1 to unpack. I had my living room in a perfect travel config...and then this. So now our suitcases are filled with non-perishables. We won’t be buying much food for at least the next 6 months!
AMEN!!!!
Preach it, brother!!!!!!!!
anything think that Trump will put the military on alert for their medical staff/equipment people?
OMGosh.
Can we make a side bet of $50 donation to FreeRepublic?
I bet there will be no forced full scale quarantines by the federal government in year 2020. You on?
Our borders should be closed.
BTW, my husband read last year "Fever" by Deon Meyer (an exciting novel somewhat similar to Matt Bracken's novels) that tells of life after a fatal virus hits), of the world hit by a fatal virus and how people survived.

Mayor Bowser Declares Public Health Emergency
Wednesday, March 11, 2020
(Washington, DC) Today, Mayor Muriel Bowser declared both a state of emergency and a public health emergency, effective immediately. The DC Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency (HSEMA) will activate the Districts Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and Joint Information Center (JIC) to provide additional coordination for the Districts COVID-19 response.
Earlier today, DC Health recommended that non-essential mass gatherings, including conferences and conventions, be postponed or cancelled through March 31. As a result, the District is pulling permits for two events in March the Rock and Roll DC Marathon and Half Marathon and 5K and the Scope It Out 5K.
Additionally, DC Public Schools announced that they have moved their teacher Professional Development day from Friday, March 20 to Monday, March 16 to prepare for the possibility of distance learning.

Thanks Oorang.
If some posthumously can be attributed to WuhanVirus, is it possible to extrapolate that the original novel was non-contagious? Testing of all critical care medical where those pneumonia cases were treated would maybe confirm?
Agreed, wise to wait for hot weather to arrive.
Spent all my money on preps. :-)
