Weili Zhang and Joanna Jedrzejczyk fought an instant classic on Saturday at UFC 248 in Las Vegas.

The merciless brutality that unfolded through five five-minute rounds would have been enough to make timid people recoil in horror, yet it was hailed as one of the greatest bouts in the history of women's combat sports.

Now you can live through it all again: The UFC released slo-mo footage of the highlights, and you can see the strikes that caused both sides of Jedrzejczyk's forehead to swell so much that she was barely recognizable.

God I saw that fight. It was the most brutal fight of the night and made the main event look like worst fight of the night. One thing I will say is that Joanna has the heart of 10 female Lions!

Originally, the UFC had no intention of employing female fighters but the women wanted to fight and kept demanding they be let in until the organization relented.
Rhonda Rousey made a ton of money until she got beat by Holly Holm a few years ago. If you think that girl's face looked bad you should have seen Allistair Overeem's kisser the last time he fought.

Unlike Vick, nobody forced these women to get into the ring. Freedom’s got plenty of bad to go with the good. And the way society is going, future historians will probably judge us as harmless doves.

It was definitely the greatest fight in women's MMA history, and a Hall of Fame fight period (male or female): two evenly matched, highly skilled opponents who are also super tough.
Respect to both Weili Zhang and Joanna Jedrzejczyk.

I’ve been a boxing fan most of my life and have watched some MMA bouts but I have always drawn the line at women fighting. I guess I’m old fashioned but I dislike the thought of women fighting.

I don't mind women fighting but, I have no interest in watching it.

What is upsetting, is seeing women injured.

It even bothers me to see women get hit with pies by the Three Stooges. I don't know, there is just something about the disfiguring and humiliation of it that just bothers me on some strange level.

Boxing Is more dangerous due to the larger gloves and NFL football is much more dangerous.
